Nothing like twisting the facts to have a good moan...... I think you would struggle to find anybody in the pit road that would think Barff would pull a stunt like that. |

So, will we have any controversies at Silverstone?
I'm really looking forward to the weekend. |

Apparently 38 for this weekend- No extra Nissans as Autosport rumoured a week or two back, but the regular entries are joined by the Geddie family United Autosport McLaren, an extra Aston from MB Racing (Michael Brown/Jamie Wall), and a third AF Corse Ferrari (Jacques Duyver/Charlie Hollings)...
GT4 sees the addition of another Aston, and the May/Osbourne Porsche, plus we should finally be seeing the debut of the much delayed GPRM Toyota, albeit as an invitation class, rather than GT4 entry http://www.britishgt.com/newsitem.php?key=2045 M-Sport's Bentley fastest in FP1: http://www.britishgt.com/newsitem.php?key=2046 |

Yep, looks like not- no time recorded in qualifying, so presumably they didn't have a spare engine. Generation's Bentley in trouble as well- fire in FP2.
Beechdean on pole- and 6 Astons in the top 10... http://www.britishgt.com/newsitem.php?key=2049 |

Just got back, good day's racing. Shame about the incident between the Bentley and Sims but good to see it has been reversed.
Only minor annoyance was the lack of programme sellers, the timetable on the site didn't show a time for the pitroad walkabout when I brought it up. We heard a mention of it on the tannoy and by the time we got there they were asking people to leave. |

At the end of the day, it was caused by a lack of communication between race control and the pit marshals as to what regs were being applied which was improved for Silverstone. So lets move on from it and celebrate this weekend's round which was a good race from the bits I saw. Last edited by mattt; 2 Jun 2014 at 06:52. |

Interesting to see in Autosport today that there are a lot of complaints after multi-class incidents at Silverstone that there should be single-class racing, meaning a separate race for the GT4 cars.
Nathan Freke's view is probably the most rational... |

Nathan Freke is probably right, perhaps this is an issue of one or two individual drivers rather than the class structure. That said I have always thought that a GT4 stand alone series could really take of as an "affordable" way in to GT racing, if properly promoted, and the chances of an overall victory could be an incentive the category needs.

What's the prize for winning the GT4 class?

Surprised that nobody has commented on Snetterton's events. Keen/Minshaw took the win in race 1, whilst Adam/Howard claimed race 2, which was red flagged early on (and restarted) because of a big 3-car incident at Riches - does anyone know about this? Adam Carroll was in the FF Corse Ferrari that claimed 2nd in race 2, and was impressive.
Howard/Adam top the standings by a big margin - 11.5 points over Marco Attard, who is 19 points ahead of his part-time teammate Alex Sims. Not so close this season... |

Not yet, bit it wasn't like that through last year, just turned piy that way at the end. Well deserved though, Mr Howard's driving has improved immeasurably over the last few years.

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/114640 As for main stream sportscar racing being multi class, then that's obviously true at the moment. But, if the rules/ costs were all, say, GT3 then I expect even international sportscar racing could be single class. |
