Just GT300's then? The class that is, or only JAF GT300/MC cars?

I wonder how much difference that made. You never know with these things, but did they keep it secret that long?

An example being here. in summary - 'results show how the passive pre-chamber concept increases efficiency with good combustion stability and high combustion efficiency in stoichiometric conditions.' |

Hmm, he must have some expert knowledge if he’s joined them as an engineer

PS What happened to "Auto Technica" magazine? They had rather informative articles in 70's and 80's but most of the volumes were dedicated to rallying. Where are they now? And I always thought Generoq is a type of Japanese Evo or Top Gear, who are not heavily interested in racing. |

An article on Lotus Evora GT300 included a revision of the JAF-GT300 MC regulations.
But no details are given. Auto Technic magazine was discontinued in 1991. |

Autosport magazine features NRE (Nippon Race Engine). <Part.1, Honda>
*Honda (HR414E/HR417E) -Honda adopted miller cycle with early closing intake valves for HR414E to reduce gas temperature in 2014. -The weak point of the Miller cycle is that the role of the turbo increases. Therefore, it was necessary to use the anti-lag system more strongly. -In 2015, Honda strengthened the tumble to improve premixing. -In addition, a crank offset has been added to improve reliability. The lateral pressure in the cylinder could be reduced. -Also increased the number of piston rings from two to three. -In 2016, Honda increased the compression ratio. -Honda also worked on improving combustion at low intake air temperatures. -And Honda reduced friction of parts below the engine and improved engine output. -Honda had introduced passive pre-chamber ignition in middle of 2016 season (3rd fresh engine?). -PCI increased the combustion speed and increased engine power 10 kw or more. -Honda changed the engine name to HR417E in 2017. The main reason is that the engine block has been strengthened, but the engine specs have not changed. -HR417E moved the position of the injector from the intake port side to the exhaust port side. This greatly improved premixing and increased medium speed torque. -HR417E reduced the Miller cycle rate. Honda worked on reducing the turbo lag, a trade-off of the Miller cycle. This improved drivability and improved fuel economy. -For the HR417E, the exhaust system was also changed, and the exhaust pipe collector was manufactured by using a 3D printer (made of inconel alloy). -Honda also redesigned the shape of the water jacket for HR417E. -In 2018, Honda has further increased the compression ratio, shortened the intake pipe length, and improved the engine output. -An intercooler was installed on the left side of the engine to reduce pressure loss. -Engine intake has been changed to front intake, improving the efficiency of the intake system. -In 2019, the method of assembling the exhaust system has been changed to reduce exhaust pressure and improve knocking. -In 2020, Honda changed the gear train to change to the FR layout. |

Autosport magazine features NRE (Nippon Race Engine). <Part.2, Lexus>
*Lexus (RI4AG) -NRE's season mileage is 7,000 km in total 8 rounds. -The initial firing of RI4AG was in March 2013 and shakedown in July. -The throttle valve was single at the beginning of development but changed to a multi-throttle valve at the beginning of the season. (Class one regulations prohibit multi-throttle valve. Plus alpha regulations allows it.) -The development theme for 2014 was the effective use of turbochargers and fuel restrictors. -Lexus experimented with various piston crown surface shapes. -Lexus also tried to change the cam's working angle several times. -The exhaust manifold was changed from 4-1 exhaust to 4-2-1 exhaust. -The development theme for 2015 was to optimize the intake and exhaust systems and the compression ratio. -Lean air-fuel ratio was taken up as a development item in 2015. -The development theme for 2016 and 2017 was to respond to high combustion pressure. -In 2016 spec, the shape of around the spark plug area and the squish area have been changed. -Lexus changed the chassis to LC500 in 2017, significantly improving cooling performance. As a result, Lexus improved engine performance by 5% due to lower engine intake temperature. -LC500 has improved maintainability and the engine replacement time (3 hours) is shorter than RC F (5-6 hours). -Improvement of turbo lag using anti-lag control was also an important theme in 2017. -The development theme for 2018 was to prevent damage to parts due to higher combustion pressure. (TRD has not confirmed it, but it appears that pre chamber ignition was introduced in 2018?) |

Autosport magazine features NRE (Nippon Race Engine). <Part.3, Nissan>
*Nissan (NR20A) -NISMO's engine concept was to produce power at a relatively lower engine speed. -In 2014-15, NISMO's weapon was the anti-lag. -NRE's anti-lag is a method of igniting the air-fuel mixture that has blown out of the combustion chamber with the heat of the exhaust manifold. -NISMO has chosen anti-lag controls that allow for misfiring over reliable firing controls. This control enables higher drivability. -Thanks to the anti-lag system, there is a time saving effect of 0.6 seconds per lap in Motegi. -NISMO has total 6 specs exhaust in 6 years. |

Why does D'station need Pacific racing as partner?
Until last year, D'station participated in SGT by KTR's participation rights. However, it appears that KTR has sold its participation rights to other team. Therefore, D'station needed participation rights. In other words, the interests of D'station and Pacific coincided. Last edited by Japanese Samurai; 3 Feb 2020 at 11:25. |

Anything newsworthy about Nissan and a new GT3 car? With kcmg dropping them for Porsche, it seems like the GTR GT3's days are numbered.
