Same here. I’d take anything at this time. It’s been long enough. I’ll admit I don’t follow this series as close as others, but it’ll be better than nothing.

Baskerville should suit these cars down to the ground. Looks like a nice mix of circuits to me. Hope spectators will be allowed by August.

So both Astras are on the market along with what we thought were Mr Bright's Golfs, and the Cupra.
Meanwhile, the Subarus have been shipped off to South America for their turn. |

At least people see those Astras on the road here. One does wonder if Opel could re enter the market under PSA ownership... Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk |

Lubner Motorsport, the Astra's constructor for TCR is re-homologating again this year.
So no, not orphans. |

Not orphans, but irrelevant to the Australian car market.
It would be like running a ZB Commodore in Supercars, or a Colorado in SuperUtes |

Opel and PSA are already beginning to blend some of their models.

So we can look forward to Opels with poor built quality and major reliability issues ?

Personally I would rank both French economy car manufacturers (Peugeot-Citroen and Renault) above the German economy car manufacturers (Opel, Ford-Werke, Volkswagen) for reliability. Both the Opel compact cars and Ford Germany cars (the Ecoboosts that are shared with US models too) seem to have a lot of problems. Last edited by V8 Fireworks; 28 Jun 2020 at 12:45. |

See the FTA television coverage has been finalised & will include live coverage of TCR Australia and S5000, as well as a number of other ARG/Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships categories.
There has been a comparison of required budgets to run TCR https://au.sports.yahoo.com/arg-reve...071104661.html |

I wonder how the bosses of V8 Supercars feel with TCR offering FTA, whilst the V8s will be behind a pay wall

Bit of a difference with one paying for it and the other wanting to be paid a serious amount of coin for it to be aired. A sport shouldn’t need TV money to keep the series afloat. Those days of big money for the rights are gone anyway... |

It's one of those things that you get what you pay for, and if the broadcaster isn't paying, the competitors pay, one way or another. Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk |

Even in this thread. Mixer can't even hold back from taking a shot at a class that has merit in Australia.
He can't even make the distinction between the production of the broadcast and the actual racing. Mixer's comment (Aside from having nothing to do with the path of discussion) is not an observation that the broadcast is amateurish (It wasn't), but more that because it was a TCR broadcast, then TCR is amateurish. It's ridiculous. It's not a comment from a guy who has a genuine interest in Australian motor racing. Supercars media supposedly being "world class", then infers that supercars are "world class". It obviously isn't, But when you can distinguish what you see on the track relative to other professional series, then that's the comments you make. If you were to ask what was so world class about supercars media? "Err...hmm...urgh...burp...derp...ahh...Mike Raymond said so 10 or so years ago" |

Haven't you had enough? Your comments are silly, you're trying so hard to show how TCR is great whereas Supercars is rubbish but you're making a fool of yourself, mate. No one has even commented since quite some time and you're trying to cause a stir in two threads. Think a bit before you write anything.

yeah there's no doubt those first TCR broadcasts were pretty poor.
Some of the eSeries stuff was done better. However I am not bashing TCR, definitely keen to see them racing again. |

Yep, both Indycar and V8s put on a good eShow.
I even tuned in to watch a few of the Formula Ford eRaces (they used Formula Renault cars), they did a half decent job of that too considering minimal interest from the numbers I saw online |

When I was lurking prior to joining. I'd read Mixer's posts and recognise a certain contempt and smugness he had towards TCR and 2 litre cars. In your case, I was thinking "OMG, this guy has no idea", "He's a guy who thinks how scary a car sounds and how 'wild' cars looks equates to the merit of racing". |
