In an interview with Autosprint Vitantonio Liuzzi states that Peugeot offered him a seat for Le Mans. So add another name to the list of F1 drivers contacted by Peugeot.

It looks more and more like a three car effort for Le Mans...........

But surely there's enough good sportscar drivers out there? Rather than recruiting F1 drivers who, whilst I'm sure are very good drivers, dont necessarily have good sportscar credentials?

I haven't given this response much thought, but if you look at the depth of talent contracted to Audi, the Porsche stable and that of Ferrari, the majority of drivers who might immediately spring to mind are already contracted elsewhere. I would suggest Peugeot have been forced to look at drivers from other disciplines in order to accumulate enough drivers of what they would perceive to be the right calibre. Make no mistake, that #2 Audi would have won the 2007 race by an embarassingly large margin even if the Peugeot's had been 100% reliable (and the #2 Audi may not have a 'freak' failure in 2008). Peugeot are playing catch up, big time!

Remember when Bouchet tested a Pescarolo ..... he had neck muscle issues , and he is one of the best sportscar drivers about .

F1 boys are super fit and should be very quick too .

And also since before the start of year 2008 Peugeot had already intensive tests with all the "new" drivers they selected to see if they fit on well with the car and the team...

I'm sure Peugeot knows very well how to select drivers, the evidence is overwhelming. Remember all 4 LMS drivers last year also had an F1 past....(or present)

Well informed people on other forums say that the 908 unveiled tomorrow will have a new livery(quite obvious in a way, as there will be new sponsors)...

In fact perhaps the new sponsor(from Emirates)will be used to create a new identity team

"Emirates Peugeot Racing team" for example

Taken from end-info .

Looks like 1 for Sebring , 2 for LMS and 3 for Le Mans .

Thought there would be 2 for Sebring !!!

Someone showed brilliant imagination with the name change thingy !!!

I like the addition of the french blue , but it doesnt look great around the front lights .

I think its a big mistake from Peugeot not to have both cars at Sebring !!!

You were faster than me to write all that on this thread

The best news to my taste was of course the three 908s for the Le Mans race itself

A bit pitty only one ALMS race will be run though...

The thing that I dont like about 3 Audi's and 3 Peugeot's is that it takes up almost a 1/3 of the LMP1 field ..... but on saying that , im glad there will be 3 Pug's to take on 3 Audi's !!

Would have prefered 2 and 2 though !

Whats the chances of Joest getting a 4th entry now ...
