I just mailed my check for "Less than SS_Collins thought." I hope that gets the team onto the grid.

I don't see it as a gimmick at all. of course, the likelihood of the team ever making a strategy decision based on fan analysis is miniscule, but just to invite the fans in that far is phenomenal.

My vote was split between Christophe Bouchut and Tony (??) Vilander. In the end Bouchut prevailed as I have a strong desire to see the Sacred Monster ride at Le Sarthe again |

Here we go then, the first phase begins.

Good to see this being considered newsworthy by Autosport - this could be clever way of keeping a steady stream of news and press releases going, something Porsche have been doing for nearly a year now. Seems like Nicolas Perrin has the the specialist press on his side if nothing else. |

Anyone has seen or heard of the aero numbers? At least total DF and total drag at specific speed?

Thank you for posting this! Something tells me you are not going to tell us how you got those numbers and how realistic they are, but if we assume they are correct, that is actually one nice car, especially considering the limited resources.
The graphs are in quite small scale, so it is hard to see what the exact max numbers are, but rounding them up shows the L/D to be anywhere between 5,2 and 5,5 which if real, is quite remarkable number! Thanks again. |

What are the graph numbers suppose to represent?

The top graph is the Drag (in newtons) at 50 m/s. It shows about 950 N of drag at that speed.
The bottom is Downforce (also in newtons), it shows about 5200 N (give or take, low resolution graph, can't tell the exact number). So, at 50 m/s, which is 180 km/h, the car would produce about 5200 N of DF for about 950 N of Drag, which would result in L/D (Lift over Drag) ratio of about 5.5 (rounding it). Which if true, is really good numbers. |
