They are doing a 4 day test at Ricard this month with the ZEOD so it is still very alive and kicking.

Might be something - might be nothing.
I just find it interesting that after specifying 2015 for a P1 return in recent PR releases the last one didn't have a date on it. Now back to just a "planned return". 2015: http://us2.campaign-archive2.com/?u=...5&e=230f54d2b8 ????: http://us2.campaign-archive1.com/?u=...e&e=230f54d2b8 |

I don't believe anything until it hits the track with regards to their LMP1 plans.
Nissan's promises , as far as I'm concerned, mean absolutely nothing. |

Next 4 years Nissan will sponsor UEFA Champions League for more than €50 million a year.

Its probably good news to get their name out in Europe. That can go with an lmp1 program. Advertising is more times than not separate than motorsports in budgeting. Sponsorship of Red Bull F1 doesn't seem to take away money for their ZEOD.

And as we have seen zilch from the "2015 car" ( at least some renderings should exist by now????), I fear it's a deadborn project. (would like to be proven wrong, mind!) |

So with Sir Chris Hoy being helped by Nissan to target racing at Le Mans in 2016 - does this mean that this will be be in a Nissan GT? I cant see him being ready for a LMP by then??

Has also adverse effects. That's probably why Porsche made their announcement two weeks after LM.
Speaking of that Porsche announcement, and simiarly Toyota's announcement back in 2011 October, both of them came totally out of the blue. If the dates of the announcements leak, it usually happens only couple of days before. On LM week it will be reported that Nissan announcement has been delayed yet again to Fuji or something. |

And at Fuji it will be announced that the LMP1 "project" has been temporarily put on hold due to the unforeseen motorsport department budget cuts, however entry application for the 2016 Garage 56 slot has already been requested ahead of full P1 commitment in '17.

Le Mans makes more sense than Silverstone for an announcement.

Yes it does. Instead of conspiracies we could look at logical reasons.

And what logical reason made them first think Silverstone was a good time?
Or maybe this rumor was just made up in the first place. |

Dont really matter when where or who started a rumor or if its a rumor. Nissan stated their intentions. Now we wait for the announcement or not.
