The same also applies with Nissan and Ford-why should they use their more expensive to race and maintain GT1 cars when they have GT3 cars to race using the same roadcar as a base model. I really cant see anyone running the Murcielagos again when the Gallardos are cheaper to run and maintain which is a massive shame as those Murcielagos are synonomous with real GT1. I like the idea of a World GT championship but GT1 should be the top class not GT3 cars (as much as I like those GT3 cars too). |

Reiter was once asked why he insisted on using the more expensive Murcielago, instead of upgrading a Gallardo, and the answer was aerodynamics. The Murcie is simply larger and can therefore produce more DF.
And I don´t think any of the three championships will detract from one another, They all appeal to different teams. Some wants the world title, some wants endurance, and others can´t afford a full on attack on the WC. Next year will probably be a bit... off... but I think it will all come together by 2013. |

Also, the Murciealago has been "given" the best weight-restrictor ratio of all GT1 cars (plus they have that enormous rear wing), I can't say the same for the Gallardo.

Why GTWC is now using GT3's.
To be honest I wonder if this series is becoming more like Trans-Am, which isn't a bad thing, but I do hope they keep an eye on the costs of the cars. |

but in next year, most of grid will be updated gt3 cars! detuned gt1 cars will survive in 2012 just because some team like all-ink, young driver etc.... still use gt1 cars and don't have plains for a gt3 entry

Looks like Hexis are trying to return next year with a new manufacturer. (In French)
Failing that, Hexis say they look at the Blancpain Endurance Series or WEC. |

Alright, that's it for the GT World Championship, then. Much as it pains me to say... but I can't see Ratel rebounding from that.

If the series is to be GT3 based how come at no point there was any mention of teams with Porsches and Ferraris?

Ratel needs around twenty cars, either ten teams with two cars each, or fewer teams running three cars. Not everyone was willing to run three cars so the series switched to GT3 based regs to attract more teams and brands. Last I read he had around fourteen cars including MarcVDS. |

2x Vita 4 One (Ferrari)
2x JRM Motorsport (Nissan) 2x WRT (Audi) 2x ALL INKL.com Racing (Lamborghini) 2x Young Driver AMR (Aston Martin) 2x Marc VDS (BMW) 2x Belgian Racing (Ford) Scratch the final two now and you have 10 confirmed cars for next year, hearing one of those teams may also focus on Blancpain and European GT program as well, dropping GT WC. Looks like its setting up to be yet another highly successful season... |

Why doesn't Ratel just kill this horse? It was tough enough for Gt3 europe to get a healthy entry list this year and now he's trying to keep the lame horse alive with 'grandfathered' GT3s.
Should just focus on the Blancpain which is making a run for it. |

The greatest mistake Ratel made with the series was the whole two car per manufacturer rubbish. I love the idea of the GTWC, and think he made a good move going to a healthier class, but this and the BOP system just doesn't make sense.
I wonder then if we could see GTWC and Blancpain merge then. |
