if the rules stay the same I hope the Honda deliberately make a car which isn't as good on the brakes and corners so they can get more boost cos as we seen they simply can't pass if they suck on the straight

Where do Cicely get the extra TBL from? Also they're running Moffats car (presumably the TBL is Moffats) so would Moffat not be a likely candidate for a 2nd Mercedes?

Certainly lots of intrigue - will triple eight be back? If they are how many cars? I assume they'd be using the MGs unless someone else comes in with the money to build a new car. Also United Autosports say they'll be back but have been saying for some time that it won't be with the Avensis - so what will it be?

As much as am sad the season is over, am excited to see what happens in this off season I.E driver changers? New cars? New teams ??

I still find it odd that Sam Tordoff doesn't drive a car that JCT600 sell.

JCT600 are the family firm who run many off the major car dealerships in Yorkshire, in fact I can see 2 off them from my office window.

Ian Harrison says that 888 have several irons in the fire to return next year - likely to be FWD. Interestingly he says that to go RWD they would have to effectively start again and that MG don't have a RWD car...whether that means they will be with MG again who knows.

Plato on the other had says he has four options in BTCC and a couple outside of BTCC, but is concerned on the regs front as if they are unchanged he says he will have to be a in a RWD car - which we can be pretty use won't be WSR! So maybe Motorbase BMW's as mentioned already.

The Tesco deal and other partners of his go with him, so he is looking around to see what happens with the regs.

Hi everyone, first post on here!

Anyway I'm trying to keep track of the drivers who've confirmed for next year. Making a spreadsheet with name, team and car (It's only been a day since the season ended and I'm doing this. Dearie me)

So far I've got...:
Aron Smith/ BMR/ VW CC
Dan Welch/ Welch Motorsport/ Proton Persona
Rob Austin/ RAR/ Audi A4?
Hunter Abbott/ RAR/ Audi A4?
Andrew Jordan/ Pirtek/ ?

Have I missed anyone out?

Looking forward to discussing more with you as the silly season continues...speaking of that what's the latest with KIA?

I'd imagine you can add Warren Scott in a second BMR car - unless he fancies just doing the team boss bit next year. Morgan is pretty much a dead cert in the Mercedes too I'd have thought.

I suspect you could go down the list of drivers / teams from this year and put together a fairly good stab at who will be where.

I probably could, but you never know in BTCC!

Agree about Morgan, just waiting for confirmation. Wouldn't be surprised to see Warren just being team manager, didn't BMR buy a few Clio's? Running that many cars would take a monumental effort and he hasn't been as successful at the wheel as he has been at developing the team.

Menu could return. Maybe Mike Bushell or Charlie Robertson can get a drive, if they have the backing, or even David Pittard if you're looking for rookies.

I didn't think I would ever say this, but I hope Menu returns. He annoyed the crap out of me in WTCC, but somehow I like his style in BTCC.

Charlie Robertson has said he wants to pursue the GT path, so I don't believe we will see him in BTCC anytime soon. I would say Mike Bushell's the strongest option for a step up. He clearly indicated it on TV on Sunday but there's more. In terms of new people you need to 'follow the money' so to speak. I don't know anything about Vital Software, but on their site it says that their president and CEO is Roger Bushell and their UK MD is Keith Bushell, therefore there I imagine there's a connection in there somewhere to Mike. Roger seems to be very wealthy so I guess Mike will be hitting him up to underwrite a BTCC season.

The car really started to run consistently after the change to the TOCA unit. Will be interesting to see how they get on with a bit more testing over the winter break.
