Is LM such the "golden crown" ? Probably not, regarding the number of members having a quite negative opinion on "what it became"...

He is however unique in being a team that not only took part in the full LMES (and Sebring) but also finished on the GTS podium twice but still doesn't have an assured entry at LM.

The sadness here is that we have the same annual debate about who has been overlooked - The solution is of course in sight (at least in part) with a 55 car grid looking likely from 2007 onwards.

The fact of the matter is that there are at least 60 cars with a valid claim to be on the grid, that marks real progress in Europe and N America. The problem of course is that you have to draw the line in the sand somewhere unless and until a larger grid can be accomodated

It isn't a perfect list for 2005 (and it isn't a perfect reserve list either) but perhaps there is better time to be spent on finding ways to accomodate future entries rather than bemoaning the lack of Car 'A' or Team 'B' from the list.

We're drifting off course (Spa entry list)... I posted an answer then deleted it to post it in the "LM works in progress" thread ; the LM field could fit the LM 2005 thread too...

Dyson's lack of entry to Le Mans has everything to do with the fact he believes the B01/60 cannot be competitive and nothing to do with a lack of interest

And on that matter who would argue with him? The MG EX257/Lola B01/60 has a pretty wretched record at La Sarthe. Maybe when Rob Dyson replaces them he'll have a crack at the Vingt-Quatres Heures.

they put so much effort into the MG /lola but still it is only almost there ...the third campaign with that car.
It looks like the money and saweat invested was a wasted the zytek ,DBA clearly with more potential same with the new LMP2 Lola....they should have abondonned it long ago. They surely have a great team including the best development driversa you could dream to have, but it didn´t work out....sad story.

You're right, Tblincoe ; but there's so many teams trying to enter with non reliable cars... for me, Dyson is very serious and honest to admit that they won't hold 24 hours. There's still hope when you start... well, again, I miss them on the LM grid.

Let's hope it. With respect to Merksteijn and Munsterhuis they have not the speed of Crevels and Coronel.

To develop the car they have to race it. Don't understand why they don't enter one car in Belcar or FFSA GT championship.

Or plonk it in G2 in FIA GT, just the Euro rounds, like Balfe's Mosler. That way they get international competition. Although they probably also get a larger entry cost....

Indeed, the 5 LMES rounds (although 1000km each) won't be enough, maybe a cost issue like mentioned before in the forum, remember the USA is their main market and nobody watches Belcar there

According to http://pitstoptv.belbone.be/nieuwsbe...hp?newsid=8130 Vanina Ickx won't be racing the T2M Porsche GT2, but she'll drive a Rollcentre. It hasn't been decided who will be her teammates on the car. Maybe it'll be Theys.
Finally she gets a decent chance with a prototype, the moment I've waiting for.

Looks as if that's a definite deal- she tested the Dallara today at Snetterton (report and pics on DSC, but it doesn't say who she'll be sharing the car with)

Barbosa and Krumm in the Nissan Dallara. Have they installed the 3600 engine or is that still to come?

Also both GNM Saleens. Is this news or were both cars entered originally?
