I'm sure today's success will have done Conway no harm at all, but I hope 2MB don't succeed in messing it up for him. Their latest 'success' was in negotiating Gary Paffet out of the Honda third driver role...

Sev has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Where has there been speculation that Ammermeuller is signing for ART? Any official rumours, as it were?

Monfardini and Porteiro shop in different series, too.

Ah, ok - cheers for the info

I would expect they'd be a fair bit more competitive than DPR ever have been.

Why isn't Viso on GP2 list? Maybe he's trying at all to get that Spyker seat in F1???

Can someone please help me understand why Zuber just managed to sign for iSport? Sure, his tests were pretty good; but so were others, and look at his racing history...

2000 - Formula König - Championship position: 12 (39 points) (Teammate: Alzenberger 3rd / 128 points)
2001 - Formula Renault 2000 Germany - Championship position: 6 (81 points) (Teammate: Bruck 4th / 122 points)
2002 - Formula Renault 2000 Germany - Championship position: 11 (120 points) (Teammate: Pfister 21st / 33 points)
2003 - Formula 3 Euroseries - Championship position: 24 (2 points) (Teammate: Rosberg 8th / 45 points)
2004 - Formula 3 Euroseries - Championship position: 0 points (Teammate: Rosberg 4th / 70 points)
2005 - World Series by Renault - Championship position: 6 (73 points) (Teammate: Power 7th / 64 points)
2006 - GP2 Series - Championship position: 14 (12 points) (Teammate: Bruni 7th / 33 points)

20 races without a point in 2004, while his team mate scored 70. Admittedly there is team bias, but still. Also, he only managed to beat his team mate twice in his entire career.

Maybe he's a hidden talent. Maybe he has a big fat wallet.

Finishing 6th in the WSR is no bad thing, sure it isnt fantastic but it is a good achievement. IMO. Also he didnt do too badly for his debut year in GP2, yes Bruni beat him but then Bruni is a very experinced driver and on his day nobody much can touch him as he showed a few times this year in GP2.

Alexandre Premat will be testing a Champcar for the Mi-Jack Conquest team. He will be in the seat on tuesday november 28th.

I hope he gets the seat for next year.

Indeed Premat could do well in Champcar, he is a good solid racer and on his day extremely fast as we all know. He doesent quite have however what it takes to make it in F1 I think, perhaps as a 3rd driver but not in a full time race seat. Champcar though could be good for him, hes done all he can in GP2, really though I cant help but think this is a sideways move rather than a step upwards for Premat. Still he can go off to Champcar and make a good living, better than Formula Nippon/Super GT. IMO.

Andreas didn't show everything he's got. And he's got a big potential. He's got one of the biggest backings in GP2... And I will not be surprised if he will win 2007 season.
F1 need Arab driver, Zuber is from UAE.*

* great marketing move

Sounds like we have a bet on

I'm going for: With Conway, Danielsson, Glock or Senna as his team mate, Zuber will get squashed.

But he's born in Austria, so he has the Austrian nationality, but a UAE license (and he lives there if I'm correct). Same with Robert Doornbos, he had a Monaco license in F3000 because he lived there, but he is 100% Dutch.

Glock firmed up as Zuber's teammate. Andi, as much as I like him, is gonna get crushed.

Glock stays? Gosh. Makes me wonder where the big 3 remaining F3 boys are going. Probably only one seat left at ART...Arden?

Anyway, with that, I now have my personal favourite (as in most likely, not most wanted) to win the Championship in 2007. Hurray to Glock!

That's quite surprising in a way. There was a comment elsewhere by Mario Theissen that they had perhaps asked too much of Seb Vettel in recent months. People were reading into that the possibility that Glock might be the BMW test driver, even if Vettel has been named as the third driver.

It's still pretty likely that Glock will be a BMW tester, but not on Friday at the F1 races.
