Todays News, and racing into the Winter as well.

http://www.speedcafe.co.nz/2012/09/0...2013-calendar/

How many NZV8s at the First Round? Under 10 would be an early guess.

So many Questions yet to be answered

Camry? Is it still a Shell with Bodywork tacked on?

With just over 120 Days till the first race they had better get cracking

Didnt 4 of the 18 people at the meeting put their hand up who wanted to go south? There is also a difference between expressions of interest and who will be there as we all know so well in todays climate. Maybe another 4 cars from the SI as well, still enough for a championship and Gold Star?

If you can recall Rev I posted no Ruapuna weeks ago... And it looks like MPL are determined to carry on... Well it is going to be a complete failure... I certainly won't be traveling south this year to see a handful of NZV8's on the grid... Bloody shame...

Sigh! I wonder if they will be running their Suzuki Gold Star Championship at those rounds too? I wonder if this was a generally agreed calendar, or whether it was just one particular person at MNZ who decided to announce it...

As calendars tend to be fairly fluid things, we shall watch this space and see how/if it changes....

If no Suzukis show up I suppose they could always be substituted with Hillman Gnomes...

Anyone see the post on NZV8s fb page made 3 hours ago? Possibly suggesting that the above is not official?
Crack pipe still doing the rounds?!

the same dates are on the official NZV8 website.

the fb post probably had more to do with people claiming there won't be a summer series and lumping NZV8s with the cc class.

Nope, that post was official and said

"Despite the contrary from some media outlets, our 2012/13 Calendar will be announced Officially before the end of the week. We look forward to a sizzling summer of motorsport with the New Generation NZV8s and our support categories!"

Also, can someone tell me what this is?? Sorry if I am being a bit slow but it was listed last week only, so which car is it?? http://www.trademe.co.nz/508268458

And why is it for sale? Cancelled order or some other reason?

I believe its the prototype chassis. If you look closely its quite different in some areas to the actual NZV8s

Why would you half-build a prototype chassis? Would it not make more sense to finish the thing and then (shock, horror) do some TESTING?

most of the media outlets have posted stories linking NZV8 with cc/st. clearly they have jumped the gun.. and NZV8 are going to continue to do their own thing. while the dates are already out there.. officially.. the supports haven't been announced.

MRXtreme should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Morning Team,
Yes as Promax said, that first chassis was built to show everyone what we could build. A few changes were made to chassis design and component line up. We decided that it was easier to start again than to cut up what we had already built. The 'Mule' went up for sale as a good base for a GT or enduro car.

We'll leave the 'Mule' for sale, it'll sell on day.

To date how many chassis have you made and how many confirmed orders do you have?

Also how may cars have been completed to date and are a ready to race?
