my guess would be it's the official announcement of the two prototypes pulling out of LM, in which case there's worse news to be had so long as it doesn't affect the ELMS massively too.

If it's two prototypes pulling out of the 56 entries, my bets would be Level 5 and the LMP2 Lotus-badged Lola. With Jetalliance gone, it would mean Status and Murphy/RLR in the race.

Is there any new engines chassis (other than the Pescarolo 03) coming in, which could have issues and won't be ready for Le Mans?

Here's my bets:

Only one Toyota for LM--unlikely. Over two months before LM, and I don't think that TMG's testing setback will have much impact on this.

Prototype withdrawals: Likely, but we don't know the specifics on that yet--maybe tomorrow?

Lotus: Possible, given the recent controversy abounding about their "sponsorship" dealings.

Bahrain: Possible again, but I wouldn't put much salt on that unless the FIA withdraw the F1 date, which that's to be seen, but a decision will have to come soon, with the race only 2 1/2 weeks away. And if that's the case, as Acid said, I don't know if I'd chalk that up as bad news...

Gimmme somethin' different: Very well may be! One thing about sportscar racing news is that it's often not predictable. Only thing we know is that it's not series related (not directly at least), and no major player as far as factory teams at least are effected, so expect 4 Audis and 2 Toyotas at LM, 4 Audis and 1 Toyota at Spa, and at least 2 Audi entries and 1 (possibly 2 at Fuji) TMG entries elsewhere.

And of course, for the news to be ominous as hinted...

I also bet that the Lotus Lola LMP2 project is dead.

Yesterday, Sam Smith, the PR guy from Lola, wrote the following tweet:

That's been suggested, since it seems that Dyson wanted one all pro line up and one with a mix of pros and pay drivers. But I'm also betting that it may be Lotus related, too.

Toyota won't be racing in Spa because of the testing shunt they had
in Paul Ricard. Thats according to Autosport's Pablo Elizalde. I guess thats our big announcement we gonna get today...
