Everything was read correctly. If they think somehow the cost of this test is too much they are clearly wrong. Every other team is participating, that says enough.

Maybe they'll (re?)purchase a spare chassis in the future.

What else was there, chassis side Dallara was the only choice given that they had already contacted Oreca much earlier and their response was "No we don't want you" + Ginetta looked shady unprepared for anything and CLM... lol AER's craptastic running record in longer endurance races says enough on the engine department, why would you wish to have that? If they had been able to obtain Oreca like they originally intended there wouldn't have been need for switches as Zytek would've been perfectly suitable from the get go |

And pit out for that matter
Seeing as half of the race will be run in darkness, will be interesting to see how illuminated Ulmann will be with this new 'complex' Also I hope FIA doesn't insist in installing new bright-as-day floodlights, you know something as utterly ridiculous as with COTA and Bahrain, but seeing as they seem to be fine with American pit boxes and Sebring return in general, I'm not too worried about that happening |

Pit lane is fine, teams will have trailers/tents/containers to work from, if you wanna see F1 style garages, please go watch/visit F1 or 'enjoy' the sterile environment at CotA... |

Agree but as you say, it could be much, much worse
With the flexible American styled pits + tents as paddock areas I also don't get why the field will presumably still be capped at 3X (not that there ever were that many extra takers, but for arguments sake) |

36.
The 34 already announced, one GTE Corvette expected and one slot TBD/TBA (perhaps 'reserved' for Ginetta if they become the latest Phoenix???). There's plenty of 'pitlane' left for say half a dozen extra entries, curious as well why the artificial limit, maybe I get the chance to talk to one of their officials during race week and find out. |

Is there a limit to the final amount or is it just the sea freight limit? If there are cars in America already (Vette, Ford?) would that be rejected? I have a hard time believing they would.

There was a Riley Viper that wanted to join COTA 6 Hours in 2016, but the entry was rejected even though it was just an one-off + not part of the logistics package
And the given excuse of not being enough garages was BS too given only 31 cars entered, yet the previous season there had been allocation for possible 35 cars & extras had Nissan and some of the others retained their spots |

Jenson Button skips the next 2 races (Sebring and Spa) to concentrate on Super GT.

Might we see Risi entering the Sebring WEC race in order to bolster their LM24 entry bid? Quite the shocker if they did!

Ah missed that. I would guess the major determinant on whether or not they get a LM24 is the person that pulls the strings at Ferrari (if Ferrari wants to run a 3rd car this year etc.).
