However, looking at the entry in my class this time, I think it could be a tall order whatever happens - there are at least a couple of others that are capable of similar (or better) pace to me, and none of them has a 30 second penalty! |

I think that the Abarth must be an interesting car to race- I remember when the (new) 500 first came out and there was a one make series supporting British GT. I think that three rolled at the first corner of their first ever race!!! Last edited by andy97; 17 Apr 2021 at 05:53. |

Have fun and try and find how to fill this huge gap. Must be hard with a six in line to compete against the four cylinder powered M3's… |

I cant either! Studying what french language used to be is a waste of time imo, nobody here uses it any more. And certainly not our prez' who speaks fluent latin! O tempora, o mores…

I can't imagine what our prez said in any language yesterday when he saw the dress his old lady put on to meet the Ukrainians.

Andy, no excuse! Flat out that's all. Some braking too… Is your gearbox a sequential one?
If you give me the choice between a 500 and a Skyline I could say sayonara to the Fiat! Anyway, you're all are very lucky to race again, hope I can do it in Aug. Fingers crossed. Priority is the jab. |

Old school then. I guess 30 hp more will make a noticeable difference on the 7. The last we had was a 1800 injection with a 6 speed gb. Good car but vastly outperformed by the ones using a two litre TC Opel on carbs.

Mines a 1600 K series. It’s gone from 140 to 172. The competition will mostly be 2 litre Duratecs and the class Bhp limit is 182. I was hoping to go to just 158 bhp to be at the top power of the next class down but we did the job too well!

Too bad! I had a Rover engine too, with constant overheating issues from new. At Magny, three melted pistons decided for me! I bought a new engine from Minister and this fixed all the previous issues, engine was user friendly and almost bullet proof. Cant remember the dyno sheet though. 172 is quite a lot for a naturally aspirated not race engine.

From the pictures I've seen it seems manu in the UK use a lot a neg camber and some toe out. It's been hard to convince my co-drivers to test this kind of setting before moaning… We have sometimes to fight against old habits saying that with a RWD car you must obviously have toe in.

How many races in the season? How long before all of the front runners have time "ballast" and the second round (if there is one) of "adjustments" comes into play? I suppose encouraging them to lap you and in so doing deposit themselves in the gravel might be considered unsporting? Is it in any way possible to manipulate the deployment of a safety car? To ones lucky advantage of course .... |

While you're here, Grant… Tire slashers, machine guns in the headlamps… and why not an ejector seat for the SC driver!Manipulate the deployment of the SC is easy: send your own car deep end far into the gravel! We all do this here…

I haven’t seen 1600k engines for a while. .......Talking Rovers . Tell you about the money rover ....... .I am waiting for 3.9 camshaft and followers . Take of the stage one v8 front & rad waterpump and pop in the camshaft . Looks really straightforward and if I have to do it Again in November : who cares ?

To be honest Grant, under normal circumstances, against the usual opposition in Future Classics, I wouldn't generally be on for an outright victory anyway - with or without a 30 second penalty! So the opportunity isn't likely to present itself again anytime soon - and highly unlikely it would happen again this season. However, I am often in contention for the class win, and the penalty is going to affect me there, and probably for most of the season, simply because the outright winner in our series rarely comes from my class, which means that, for the rest of this season, I'm hampered by the penalty, but it's quite likely that no one else in my class will be (the 30 second penalty is only applied to outright race winners, not class winners). Hence, thinking more about class victory than outright victory, I now have to see if I can find those 30 seconds over a race distance just to be where I would normally be anyway. Still, those are the rules we all agreed to and I can hardly expect any special treatment simply on the basis that I'm not likely to win again even without a penalty. |

SC drivers make the show sometimes. RD car driver are not always "in tune". At Dijon, the long straight starting with a tight slope, if the start is too slow drivers in the middle of the grid struggle to go forward and not backward.
