I just received a mail today that you could order a modem or wifi package at location fot the November race. Prices are 100 euros for the modem package and 75 for the wireless network package. No info on coverage, max data, extra feature (real time race info/webcams/..) etc.

Orders have to be in before october 22!?

I predict that there will be LOTS of accidents and spin-offs in 5C to 10C temperatures during the race time.....

I went to the Indy 500 about 10 years ago when the air temp was about 10C...it was next to impossible for the teams to get their tires up to proper operating temperatures, and thus, they had no grip...the pole sitter spun out of the race on the Pace Lap and even legends like Mario Andretti were into the wall by the end of the day....

LOTS of mangled hardware left the Brickyard that day....

I hope the LM-1000K does not have the same type of day for the race teams....

Hopefully they are well insured...

Seriously speaking though, maybe softer tyre compounds can help a bit?

The softer the better...but all of the weaving in the world as they try to warm them up will help some...but not necessarily enough to overcome the cooler air temperatures....they still ahve to get to a certain range to begin to get the proper grip...

Sorry to break the news but there will be no live TV coverage of the race here in the UK - I checked the monthly Cable TV gudies when I was in town this morning and there is nothing listed on either Eurosport or Sky, havn't checked Motor's TV yet, that might be our only hope...........

btw: There's some news about Jan Lammers' sponsor concept on http://www.vandijkonline.net. Picture gives a sneak preview of the 2004 Dome with larger sponsor blocks. Now you can choose your preferred block by picking the corresponding number. Maybe RfH will take this car to the LMES 1000kms in November to let us choose already...but where are my 2500 Euro's?

B.t.w. take a look at vandijk's guestbook: Jan Lammers himself added an entry !

Oh, no! It seems my chances of going to Le Mans are getting smaller (lack of money as usual, Sweden's way too far from the action...) so i was hoping for at least some radio coverage but this sucks!

Ofcourse softer compounds will help, but tyre manufacturers don't make compounds for these conditions. Think this is the only race where they can expect temperatures of around 5 degrees celsius.

Gilles should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Hi guys,

I'm back after a few months without posting.

And I'm ready for the next weekend...
... Fab it's not true, we don't hear the Lister in the city centre !!!

But of course some teams are already here.

PS: if anyone want to sleep in a warm bed and not in a wet and frozen tent, I've got some good hotel plans...

Hi Gilles,

We'll be there next weekend... with a tent and a gas-heater. In case the weather is that awful, can we use your hotel plan as a backup?
