This second race is an absolute disaster. The hometown "hero" didn't even make the start due to technical problems. 2 SCs in the first 7 minutes. Commentators missed the start, then shout and scream whenever anything happens.

But then again F1 gets small column inches here in Australia even in the biggest newspaper. Doubt the mainstream news here even realises the series exists and that there is even a Aussie driver in the series (Caitlin Wood). All patriotism aside I’m a big fan of Chadwick and Gosia Rdest. |

Why is it taking so long to clear these cars?
Edit: The names on the noses make it much easier to identify drivers, nice change. Last edited by ApexTurtle; 18 May 2019 at 14:34. |

That was pretty fun, I will once again complain there should be 2 races per weekend. I'm enjoying this more than I thought.

As a fan on Jamie Chadwick I'm a little bit disappointed how the 2nd race ended, but at least she was able to take her place back from Alice Powell. Well done to Beitske Visser for a clean race win.

Good for Visser, she showed flashes of form in 3.5 racing. Chadwick and Powell, close battling there. Series has done alright so far
Nice to see Davina Galica interviewed |

At the risk of being slightly controversial, given that Jamie Chadwick has now been signed up by Williams F1 should Chadwicks seat go to someone else who needs an opportunity to show what they can do?

It’s a valid point, but I think she should only give it up if she goes to another single seater series. This series is helping to give females single seater race experience, so I don’t see why she should give it up now having a Williams test contract. After all, she probably won’t drive the F1 car often if at all with testing restricted these days

But she's not actually racing, so I would say no. It would be different if an F2 team signed her for the full season or something like that.

Well, this weekends winner Beitske Visser already drove in other series against men.
in 2014,2015 and 2016 she raced in Formula Renault 3.5/ Formula V8 3.5 , in her 3rd year in 2016 she finished 13th in the championship, but Roy Nissany was 4th that year with 3 wins and Beitske was the lowest scoring full season driver apart from Guiseppe Cipriani who was 51 at the time. |

14 SL points gets you an international A licence which lets you drive in a test session. 25 points gets you into free practice. |

Shae Holbrook is running F3 America, for instance. I'm sure if W Series had an issue with it, they'd have said so. |

Until Jamie accumulates the necessary Super Licence points she will never drive the F1 car at speed on any sort of circuit - so she'll be doing sim work and also may get to drive some older machinery at shows etc.,
However the F1 connection raises awareness of her, so could help introduce her to the right people within F3 and F2 teams. Whilst she won the MRF Challenge in India, I don't think that earns any superlicence points and neither does W Series yet. |

Enjoy watching this on TV.
Especially when the commentator says the polesitter got a bit of oversteer at the start. Errr... Also surprised no fans at all for DTM in Italy. |

The Saturday DTM race was earlier, before the W Series race. Even so there’s a decent timetable of support events, Porsches, Audi GT3s, W Series, TCR. Surprising to see the stands quite so empty.

Powell tried a bit too hard too soon and it bit her. Wohlwend, blew the start, but managed to stay close to Chadwick/Visser throughout. Those two and Powell seem to be consistently a step ahead of rest of the field. Aoyama, yet more good overtaking

Reverse grid Sunday race for Assen. Assuming it won’t be shown by CH4 I wonder if it’ll be available online?

At least they are doing it as an experiment, so won't influence the championship too much. I don't think it's the best idea though

Seems today's race was not the best, little overtaking, poor commentary and many penalties/mechanical issues. That being said i thought Marta Garcia has been decent all season and put in great performances this weekend. Alice Powell also showing that she still has some ability despite being off track for a few seasons, hopefully she can find some more drives for the future.

It's a real shame for Rdest who was very comfortable on this track and also it's sad for the British with 3 out, including Powell who had made a very good comeback from 18th to 8th, and Hawkins who really deserved her first points.... Hawkey on the other hand finally scores for his 4th single-seater race, not bad!
Cook shows her progress by finishing not far from Koyama and even ahead of Pepper, while Shiff after struggling yesterday with carburetor feeding problems takes the last point. To get back to the top 5, Kimilainen's great performance with the best lap (whereas she had to be almost bedridden to recover in these last races), and as usual Wohlwend regular and fast, Chadwick and Visser on the podium while Garcia delivers her best race of the season! Enough to hope for an end of the championship with a little suspense! |

Cars were too far apart from each other. Dunno if it's the gap in driver skills, the racetrack, or aerodynamics issues.
