Performance will run Parth Ghorpade at Spa. Also offering a drive in their second car.
http://www.racer.com/latest-stories/...-to-british-f3 Only six cars at Snetterton. |

6 starters and 3 finishers today - I still can't believe that the MSA are allowing this to continue or at the very least why they haven't removed championship status so it doesn't sit with the heritage of BF3.

Thing is though, if they can it now then its dead and buried, never to return. They've got to keep it going this season, if nothing else for the fact that you have 5 cars who have committed to it and would have nowhere else to go.
They will see out this season, but I fear that next year won't happen unless the grids hit double figures. How they do that, I don't know |

They attempt to get as many graduates from BRDC F4, FF UK and keep as many 2nd year drivers as possible.
British F3 and the F3 Euroseries should've merged for the 2011 season... |

Whilst there is zero credibility in winning it, no serious 'career' drivers will enter it, they want to go to EF3 or EFR.
In many ways BF3 is a victim of the modern career driver who (if they have the funding) want to move on and up as soon as possible coupled with the self inflicted wound of pricing itself out of the market. If the above have just done a year of BRDC F4 do they really want another year of tooling around Snetterton and Brands Hatch? No, they probably want to heard to sunnier climes and the 'bigger' stage. That's just how it is now, sadly. |

Tend to agree about the circuits in UK. Silverstone GP yes, Donington possible ,sadly the remainder do nothing for the foreign drivers even Brands GP due to its lack of pre event testing opportunities is losing favour

Thruxton has pulled Alex Lynn and Harry Tincknell, so there may be 8 or 9 cars for next season...

OOOOOOOOOOH... ...so this is Euro F3 Jr? At least there may be serious drivers/teams interested. It is only preliminary, but Silverstone, Spa, Hockenheim, Nurburgring, Red Bull Ring? Not bad, and Donington will surely feature if this goes ahead... |

And why would you choose to race with the old car when you can race with the new car at the same quality of tracks for the same money in Euroformula?

Because the Euro Formula cars engine does not meet FIA regulations and therefore the car is not classified as a F3 car and therefore drivers not eligible for a Macau entry
Plus in fact the 308 is a better F3 chassis as it was not limited in the aero department as the 312 However it is a good series |

British F3 International Series never really made that much sense with that title

Pistonheads' take on the situation. Although I'm a little perplexed as to what they mean by 'the current resurgence' in the series.

The recent resurgence probably relates to having Alguersuari, Ricciardo, Vergne and Nasr all winning in recent seasons (with Kevin Magnussen finishing 2nd to Nasr), where the last champion to race in Formula 1 was Nelsinho.
Martin Cao for Caterham F1 anyone? |

Well, they have a point. Rao and Cao are certainly F1 hopefuls.

With the current global economic crisis, Martin Cao and his Yuan's big bag can be pretty useful in F1 grid.

Roberto Merhi will race at Spa for Double R so he can enter the Macau GP. Seems like the grid will be quite good for one round of the series, although I can predict he'll win at least 2 of the races, barring issues.
Carlin will also run Ed Jones, Sean Gelael and Sam MacLeod, Performance will run Bryant-Meisner (I believe alongside Parth Ghorpade), Motopark will run Indy Dontje and Nabil Jeffri, and finally ADM Motorsport will run Nikita Zlobin and Kang Ling, with the Chinese driver making his F3 debut. I count that as a grid of 15 cars. Thank god for Spa! Last edited by Biscuits In A Red Bull; 22 Jul 2014 at 09:20. |

Ghorpade isn't running at Spa, and none of the regulars are anywhere near the sharp end in practice. Forecast for on/off rain over the weekend.

What a disappointment this Roberto Merhi. Will Boyo take him to Macau to drive the local casino sponsored car? A wise woman once said that every morning when you wake up you say a little prayer. After all, you never know what your day may hold.
