Considering that ESM are fielding a car in both races this weekend, in a little while we can maybe compare an ACO spec LMP2 on "real" tires vs an IMSA spec LMP2 on the Conti-branded Hoosier IMSA tires.

Conditions seem to be worsening now--everyone's just cruising to the finish of FP1.

They can't be that bad, as the #7 Toyota just did a 1:53.7, with the fastest lap on that car being a 1:52.4.
We'll know it's getting uglier when the LMP1s can't dip under 2:00 for a lap. |

Looked like the Toyotas were getting better times towards the end, at least in Conway's hands. He did a couple 54's then 53's. Not bad if the track was going away.

Neel Jani posted a pic about 15mins ago of a Toyota stopped at pit-out on the way up the hill. Not sure what number of what the issue was.

Top times being traded back and forth, track must be drying.

Just woken up to the fact that this event is on this weekend, is there live streaming somewhere?

Yes there is, to both your questions.
WEC is live streamed via the app/site, although you "have" to pay for to view it. It's been a while since LM, but for previous WEC races the direct link was posted here anyway. TUSC stream can be found at here when the broadcast starts. If this doesn't work there is a direct link, but I don't have it bookmarked. |

From timing in FP1: #1 Audi was fastest in the speed traps (probably first time this season that's happened), while the #2 was one of the slowest LMP1s in the speed trap, but they ran essentially the same lap times.
And in spite of having the LM noses on their cars, Toyota were down in the speed traps, both Porsches were a bit faster. |

I know this has all been said before, but for it to be worth it to me, the race and all sessions would need to be On-Demand. There are too many practice and qualifying sessions and even races which simply cannot fit my schedule unless I quit my job, in which case I cannot afford the app or the bandwidth to get the races.
