Tappy will race for Rollcentre in LMS this weekend, which I suppose kind of rules him out of the Fortec drive (unless he does a Moreau and does both, but it doesn't look like it)

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/66745

Plus, I've read that Fauzy is in line for the FMS drive in GP2 for the first couple of races in place of Herck, which also rules him out I assume. Guess its left to Rodriguez, Reid or Theobald.

Is the Renault World Series site up to date? According to that, Reid is the second driver at Fortec, but it's still listed as TBC on the Fortec website???

With Rodriguez out of the equation, I suppose Reid is up for the drive now. Hope so, he deserves a shot at European competiton.

Yeah, I too hope that Reid get's the Fortec seat. As I said earlier in the thread, unlike some of this years' rookies he has considerable experience with 500 bhp, slick-shod single-seaters with his A1GP exploits so I don't think it would take him too long to adapt to the new WSR car.

Also, in other WSR news, it appears that Renault Sport have tweaked qualifying slightly by dropping the whole 'Superpole' idea. It now works like this:

1. Two 20-minute sessions with 13 cars in each group
2. The top 8 drivers (top 4 from each group) start Race 1 in reverse order
3. For Race 2 they line up in original qualifying order - rest of grid decided by Race 1 finishing order

For example, this is Monza qualifying:

Group A:
1. Aleshin 1:35.1
2. Bonanomi 1:35.4
3. Carbone 1:35.6
4. Duran 1:35.7

Group B:
1. Wickens 1:34.9
2. Molina 1:35.0
3. Garcia 1:35.2
4. Walker 1:35.5

So, in time order we have:

1. Wickens 1:34.9
2. Molina 1:35.0
3. Aleshin 1:35.1
4. Garcia 1:35.2
5. Bonanomi 1:35.4
6. Walker 1:35.5
7. Carbone 1:35.6
8. Duran 1:35.7

For Race 1, Duran would be on Pole with Carbone 2nd, Walker 3rd and so on. For Race 2, Wickens would take Pole with Molina starting 2nd, Aleshin 3rd etc.

Simple?

The superpole idea is abandonned just at Monza because we don't have boxes at this track (because they are all taken by LMS teams).

Seems that Fortec have signed Julian Theobald, although it's not clear if it is for the whole championship or just the first round.

Sector times and the whole 9 yards. Cheers KMJ.

EDIT: that is if it works this weekend...
