Im sure that McKenna will give him a good run and Cole since he already knows all the ciruits well. Cunill could be an outside contender.

one for the list

One that I think is missing...

Wrensport-Felix Scott-Spirit

So that would be 23...

JTR had arguably one of the best drivers to come through Ford in a while in Nick Tandy, and didn't win the c'ship. Newgarden is quick, but I don't think by any strectch of the imagination the title is a foregone conclusion.

I think there will be a few surprises as well as the perceived pre-season favourites.

08u05 sorry to contradict your post of yesterday about 09 driver line up's but I think this is the latest news regarding Cliff Dempsey Racing and Scott Malvern http://www.driverdb.com/drivers/12729/press-releases/

Ah cheers Deemun, didn't realise he was officially racing for Cliff this year.

Also didn't realise Felix Scott was going to be back this year, after seeing one of his Spirit chassis for sale a couple of months back. Maybe they're selling the yellow chassis and keeping the ex Linton Stutely one, that was two tenths of a second quicker out of the box at Donington!

I'd like to think there are a few drivers that will be fighting for wins this season. Great to see the Comtec back again, if Scott is racing in a Spirit that makes it eight possible chassis' racing this year.

Autosport this week reports that Juno have tested David Brown and gearbox karter Jake Green.

Does anyone have any news on Nathan Freke's plan to run 2 cars in this years championship?

Is Nathan Freke planning on becoming a team boss then? Is he another of the hundreds of brilliant racing drivers who can't afford to keep racing? Ashame if thats the case.

Was something I heard a couple of months ago, may just have been rumour.

The championship will now be known as the "MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain".

I'm not sure as to Nathan Freke's aspirations to become a team boss, but he well continue to race in the Ginetta G50 championship which may prove a stepping stone to GT racing.

Good move by Juno to put Brown in the car. After three seasons in UKFF he should know what is involved in getting a car to work.

Was there any testing over the weekend?

James Cole was again the man to beat yesterday setting the pace in wet and cold conditions. I have to say Josh Hill is getting better after every test I see him. He was 3rd quickest of the drivers yesterday. The suprise was Alex Jones in the KMR Spectrum as he seemed to take to the new style wets really well and was only a couple of tenths of James.

Daniel Erickson had a tough start with an off exiting cascades but came back steadily through the day to be just shy of Alex by the time I left.

Mckenna again looked to struggle with a number of off's during the day and was the slowest of the Durectecs at the test. I think when he gets a bit more experiance in the car he will be quick.

It is hard to tell as he missed the chicane at knickerbrook quite a few times so that made timing difficult. I got him at 1m 55.8 but he was mainly in the 1m 56's & 7's.

James cole did a 1m 54.6 but the conditions were changing all the time and the Jamun boys were not really on the circuit at the same time.

Thought it was time for an update:

Jamun - Cole, McKenna, Hill, (Herron?)
Fluid - Barker, Barrable, Gamberini, Findlay, ?, ?
Kevin Mills Racing - Jones, Erickson, Cammish
Raysport - Jaffer, ?
JTR - Stuart, Newgarden, ?
GWR - Harper, Benson, ?, ?
Enigma - Mills, Hamilton
Wrensport - Vernon, (Scott?)
Minister - de Zille, ?
GVR - Cunill, ?
Makela Racing - Buri, ?
Mackie Motorsport/Marque cars - Luke Williams, ?
Beacon Racing - ?, ?
Myerscough - ?, ?
Juno - Palmer, ?, ?
DWR - ?, ?
Getem - ?, ?
Inter Motorsport - ?, ?

If anyone knows more than me please feel free to add/change the list. I'm not sure about the Beacon Racing entry, as the Mygale I believed they own(ed) is now back on the market. I believe we're gonna see a few teams out at Rockingham tomorrow (05/03).
