Yes, an ironic name for a half-baked ugly as sin disaster of a car from 7 years ago makes me a "Grand Am shill". Good to see that a slightly different opinion is tolerated, oh fine moderator.

Tell me what I said was wrong.

Yes, the car is plenty reliable. The Doctors and lawyers with a big check driving them? Not so much.

That the 911 Cup couldn't go for 12 hours for a start.

Yeah right, you might want to do some research. 2004 had a full blown works effort by Audi, Manthey had strong Porsche support in 2005 etc.

Have you even looked at the entry list for GTC?

Honestly? No. It's a forgettable field filler class that isn't gonna get on TV until one of them wrecks. I know Leitzinger & Diaz are slumming in there, but that's about it.

Interesting. So basically a Grand Am GT crossover race, this will probably be the best race out there. Too bad the cameras are gonna spend all 12 hours watching the pugs do demonstration laps.

There is someone in nearly every car on the grid that is capable of wrecking them.

Do we think that the drivers in the cars for this practice session are likely to be the ones doing the qualifying later?

This is a discussion board. I'm watching and discussing racing. Would you rather I espouse on puppies and sunflowers?

Diesel powered puppies suck.

He doesn't need to look at the entry list to make an uneducated remark! I'm sure he would do just fine either way .

Sounds like the Drayson lola has hit a cup car quite hard with a fair bit of damage- red flag again.

His lordship was driving on cold tyres

Timing screen says the car is back in the pits, so it mustn't have been a heavy crash.

EDIT: Okay, now that's a reason...

I love Paul Drayson for his enthusiasm and for going it for as a P1 privateer, but I do wonder how well the car would perform with 3 pro drivers in it?

As long as the concurrence doesn't have much better line-ups there is no need of 3 pro drivers

So maybe he should tell Magnus, Autohaus, Miller Barrett, TRG, and Grant that they're all just "field fillers" because they're just running GT3 Cups too.

And actually, the camera crews have gotten quite adept at giving GT2 some good airtime. With GTC having name drivers, I suspect they'll get some attention too.

i don't think it's so cut-and-dried with the Pugs either. Their ex-F1 drivers have had something of a record of throwing it off the road, so I wouldn't count out Drayson or AMR by any means. Also, I'm a bit surprised as to just how close the top LMP2s are.

And in reality, you only need two cars at any one time doing the old cut-and-thrust with one another to have a compelling battle for position. You should see the video of Villeneuve and Arnoux going at it for 2nd in the 1979 French GP at Dijon-Prenois.

Judging by the events of 15 minutes ago, I'm not so sure I share your assement of Drayson.

Very true. And I don't think there's any racing driver on this planet who hasn't thrown it into the boonies at least a few times in his life.
