We have tried to do an "In depth analysis"- of the DP vs. LMP2-Topic on our side:
http://www.gt-eins.at/cms/index.php?...=9009&Itemid=1 (German only - sorry) The quintessence is that we think DP are likely to get an performance break for the more narrower tracks which are to come. Also allow me a link to our extensive race-report: Daytona 24h 2014 Race-report |

Thanks bro, looks like P2 vs DP is becoming another daily topic in place of Petrol vs Diesel

The NASCAR influence is clear in that "It’s understood that protests, in fact, are not allowed under the new sporting code."
Don't like our way? That's US 92 right over there ... see ya. |

We're lucky the race didn't finish under yellow. That GTD Ferrari made a dumbass move on the GTLM BMW in the last few minutes. Almost against the wall, and BMW lost all momentum to get any close to the leading Porsche.
By the way, I am surprised that some GT cars were able to go around PC prototypes on the oval straights. This was a nice race, but boy.. too many commercials. Did you notice that after a long commercial break, the race coverage comes back for one minute, and then there is one more commercial? I guess this is not bad when watching a 24 hour race, but I would prefer less commercials in 3 hour race. I had the thing recorded on DVR anyways. Also, there was too much TV time dedicated to the front three prototypes. |

I must say that this race was a bit of a redemption for the DPs, at least in terms of looks. The Corvette DP is a nice looking prototype, and looks closer to a road sports car than ACO prototypes. Corvette DPs reminded cars like McLaren F1. The old DPs before 2012 were so ugly, I wished I could unsee them.

Let me digress for a second. The SRT Vipers are...AWESOME! I wonder where they may have placed if they hadn't run into issues. Wasn't one in the top 10 overall prior is an issue?

Stupid yellows and race fixes are why I stopped going to Daytona, if this continues at Sebring and the rest I'll be doing a lot more fishing this year. I also imagine that will spell the failure of the series unless management realizes that road racing is different than NASCAR and has different fans. |

I think someone had commented once that it was an option for the diffuser, if the car was so equipped. Maybe some teams decided to keep it even after taking the diffuser off.

Leader lights 2.0
Thanks for all the positive comments on the new leader lights 2.0 system made by us, SPAA05.com from the Netherlands, we worked many hours with 3 guys on almost all cars to have a flawless working system, biggest issue just after the start was the wireless control in an overloaded RF spectrum and strict FCC regulations. We managed to reset most of the off-line receivers from the side of the track and had P1, P2 and P3 in all classes and many more cars working till the end of the race. Readability, as the track was well illuminated all night we have been running at 50% brightness most of the night, compared with the Dubai24h where we switched back to 10%, Google images show many beautiful pictures. Any feedback is welcome see you all at Sebring.

Nice of you to post on here I wonder, what is the maximum shutter speed possible to capture the LEDs with a camera?
