Really good mini meet,as usual drank a fine selection of quality ales in historic pubs and then a really fine curry. See everyone again in May. Thanks to Ian for organising the itinerary, and everyone that made it such a great day

I did indeed. Having booked my room a long time ago, I thought I'd get on and get my ticket. Yeah, I noticed the increase too - a tenner isn't insignificant - however £50 for three days of motor racing entertainment is still good value. It was £40 from 2014-17, having jumped from £35 the year before. I paid £20 just for the Saturday (LMS then) in 2008. |

That is a big increase, especially when there are hardly any P1 cars worth watching, the main reason people go after all.
Well normal people anyway, not the WEC lot who go all three days |

i must admit having a real soft spot for some of those WR racing cars, fast and strange looking, over the years i grew to love them. May he rest i peace knowing that he was part of le mans history

Very sad news!
WR Racing have been missing in Le Mans for some years now, sad that he won't see them return a last time. I always loved their efforts. |

Loved how Welter always tackled the race his way and by targeting the speed record instead of the race win is just one example of that.
Hope this isn't the end of the team and they are able to get back to Le Mans in the future. |

Good news, likewise for me - surprisingly no-one else wanted it so I got it after all.

For the Spa 6 Hours 2018, like every year, I've booked my favourite gîte near the circuit. It sleeps 6 persons, of which 5 have confirmed their stay at the moment: me, my friend Matthew and his son, and Isynge and Batmobile of 10/10s' fame
The sixth and final bunk is up for grabs for the price of 60 euros, from thursday 3rd of May in the afternoon till sunday 6th of May. Price only includes the stay at the gîte, not included are food and drink (including Vincegail's famous friday evening Chicken and Gueuze Stew) and access to the race. Interested? Please send me a PM. First come, first served. Last edited by vincegail; 12 Feb 2018 at 13:52. |
