Is it that difficult for you to read the rules There is no distinction between homologated GT2 and stock block engines in the LMP2 rules

BTW none of the LMP2 engines we will see this year, comes from a GT2 car. The Nissan V8 comes from SuperGT and the HPD and Judd are completely new production based engines.

Was there a mention about the 4.0 GT2 limit, as I do believe I read something to that effect a few times in the past? I think that Dagys reported on that when the ACO finalized their rules.

If the 4.0 limit on GT2 engines is null and void, then that opens things up, as the V8 Vantage engine at 4.7-5.0 liters will be allowed, but I think that with the LMP1 and various GT programs, AMR probably has too many cookie jars with hands in them to support such a program, though a future inline 6 stock block engine could be in the cards if the new 2.0T inline 6 from the AMR-One shows promise and AM themselves make inline 6 road car engines. However, that's one stone that's definetly unturned.

Speaking of which, I know that the LMP1 version of the V12 had DFI and the new inline 6 does, but does any production Aston used DFI yet (the trickle down effect from the race engines)? The Virage (a DB9 variant that slots between the base DB9 and the DBS) has been launched, but it looks like it uses a tweaked V12 without DFI.

We don't know who will partner Tomas Enge when the YD Vantage GT2 comes out to play; that could be an all-pro lineup!

Should have realized that Nygaard would still be involved somehow in the program. Enge/Muller is a good pairing though!

I would say Nygaard is the weakest link cause Muller and Enge are the stars but all the same that is a good lineup.

Apparently testing a British GT Porsche for Trackspeed today at Silverstone, so maybe a return to British GT for at least part of the season? Hoping he'll find a drive somewhere in LMS/ILMC etc at some point though

David Richards doesn't see it as a 20 year old design, still, what does he know?

Intersting, he won that with GruppeM co-driving with Sugden in what, 2004? Then went on to win Porsche Carrera Cup Asia in following year for same sponsor. Accoring to Sugden's website he is still managed by Tim Sugden Motorsport

I am sure he would prefer LMP but he must keep his name up there

It looks like Richard Westbrook will be racing for Trackspeed in the other car when he can, so that would be a great yardstick for Cocker to measure himself against.

Waivers/ACO dispensation probably, we know the GT2 Vantage isn't exactly the fastest car out there.

That article is from the ACO: http://www.lemans.org/en/news/The-IL...cas-_3018.html They should know how many entries a team has applied for.

A total of six AMR-ONEs will be built, (DSC believes that 5 are already sold with several potential buyers vying for the final car) with the factory team running one car in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (ILMC) and two cars at selected events.

Not sure about the difference between 2010 and 2011 cars but could it be a new car built to last years spec?

Maybe it's a 2010 unsold one? Maybe it's a refurb. I haven't gone into details on the particular car, just thinking aloud...

Someone will, in a minute, and prove me wrong.

Well the engine sounds very 2011 to me. They probably can't/won't race a 2010 engine anymore but this all seems to defeat the purpose of the regs...

They're probably travelling with a second rear bodywork on top of the normal one. Makes sense to package it this way.

Same as Paugeot and Audi enter 3 cars each. It gets the team used to things, and running all the cars...

Not worthy of a thread itself & not really enough news to cobble together a Britcar thread yet, but news from yesterday's media day:

Despite his new job at Aston Martin, John Gaw will return to the Silverstone 24hr this year in the MJC Ferrari.
From 2012 he can only drive Aston Martins
