and that's news???
personally I think the Corvette would be the better choice as a replacement for the Commodore than a Camaro. that's if Holden teams were allowed to choice between the two. not that I think either car would be an option when the Commodore is retired from V8SC. the last 2 pages of this thread sounds more like Australian GT rather than V8SC. |

Forget the corvette, it won't be allowed to race in the series. |

The Corvette is more of a GT than a Touring Car. But yeah, you could probably argue the same for the Camaro.
Having said that, I reckon the Insignia will be the one that'll get the nod regardless of what Mr McNamara says. |

Why would you think that post-manufacturing pullout, that Holden will still be Holden down here..?

Its interesting that neither FPR or HRT have seen a continuation of their manufacturer deals beyond this year. Mr Tander's reportedly imminent deal was also to be announced recently but wasnt.
Is Ford waiting for an alignment with Penske before continuing? And is Holden giving HRT a haircut on its support, especially given that its the other red mob that are winning everything. Mr Tander seems to be silent thru all of this... Odd... |

Perhaps it forces WP to play more commercially, to be an engineering powerhouse running 4 full paying cars, instead of reliance on manufacturer money Where to for Mr Tander if this does turn turtle for WP |

As we dont know all the deals going on, Young Ryan will have something already going on, He has thru Walkingshaw Pefomance the ditribution rights to some bolt on bits for a Euro Ford Model to sell in Aust, and I would dare say, Walkinshaw Performance has already sussed out what can done to the Cadillac , that is strongly rumored to replace the Commydore,
Prodrive most likely pulled out and off loaded FPR as they were not interested in asssiting in the build of Fords replacement for the Falcon. I think Young Ryan has picked up some of his Dads smarts in different makes and models, so HSV may change to CSV (Caddy Spec Veh's) while FPR may remain as Ford Performace Racing or , FOrd Racing . As to what car, I still go with the Cadillac at GM , and Mondeo/FUsion, as Fords prefered saloon/ 4 door sedan , and leave the Mustang for Gt racing. Penske will most likley run the last Facl before it morphs into the Modeo |

WP have been playing with Renaults too in the ARC.
How all of this translates to their future in V8SC is anyone's guess. |

Walkinshaw Sr had been known to run as many as three different manufacturer backed entries in the one series before (and let them race as well)
Given one of the supposed goals of CotF was to make the cars as 'same' as possible underneath, perhaps Walkinshaw Jr could pull off a similiar idea |

Who says the commodore wont continue racing post production here? How much of a V8 supercar comes from a factory anyway?
And who says HSV is going anywhere? |

The pullout of Holden would have to be seriously damaging to the business case for HSV.. |

Without a doubt, I am not sure what the future holds as a "manfacturer" but we do know that Walky Jr has been to Detroit. |

They are both just clearing the decks with huge redundancies and asset write downs. Nothing to see here. Against that the sales are really irrelevant.

Reported this morning that Tander has signed a multi-year deal with HRT.

Some of the gloss may have been taken off the prized HRT seat in recent years with the success of RBA and their #1 position with Holden, the closure of Holden's local manufacturing and the effect this will have on WP cash cow HSV. |

Ford Says 'NO' To Penske
Looks like any potential future Penske entry may not be Ford backed! Is this the 'real' Penske contract file? |
