Few of Burf's 'Lumbertubs' on the grid for the Les Leston race. The last one is at the race start.

Was pleased with the LL Cup result given a blown engine in testing and all sorts of problems with the 'spare' especially as my MGB is an 1853 and Baz's car is ali bodied and a 1950. The smoke from the Attila was because I had not tightened up the dipstick when topping up the oil and so it peed out onto the manifold on every right hander. Wasn't sure what the problem was and didn't fancy arriving at St Marys at 140 with oily tyres so trundled around for a finish. Dipstick. For anyone interested I have posted some in car footage of the start of the LL Cup on YT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=repX7ldtOlI |

Gary thanks for the photos - with you rpermission I will put them on my FB and Instagram.
Whilst my aspirations were maybe lower than fiscracer (I just wanted to finish!) they were met and exceeded in spades. Les Leston was great clean racing and now I can tell Burf's Lumbertubs from the other WSM/Sebrings! They all seem to smoke but only one sprays petrol as it drives along.... I had so much petrol soaked concrete dust on my windscreen by the end of qually I could hardly see out! My race was wonderfully uneventful and had a lot of fun keeping Burfs behind me and trying to catch the white Sebring and TR4 ahead of me, another lap and I would have had them.. I loved the mix of old and new cars and hats off to the high box F1's - high speed demo's was good to its word! Congrats to Peter Mallet - you were robbed by the safety car but it did seem poetic justice given Tiff Kissed David Clark's winning Camaro into a spin! Last race of the day between Lynn and Hancock was a masterclass in how to race. Thrilling all the way to the flag |

Simon - you're welcome to use them in that way. Agree about the F1's - the demo runs don't usually interest me that much but the F1's were intoxicating and much better than the turbo F1's last year.

What a fabulous weekend for a Goodwood debut.
Paddock bay nicely positioned on BMC Boulevard with the other Austins and a Moggie, opposite Mr Mallett and various other Rovers and Triumphs. The blue ovals were similarly grouped along the way, presumably in Ford Fair Lane… Car ran perfectly in qual, allowing me a full session to begin to get to grips with the track in unsilenced race trim. No snags meant plenty of time for a very sociable weekend – sorry BudLight that we didn’t get chance to speak more. An early call for the race on Sunday meant less time for the customary jitters, which manifested themselves in a slightly heavier right boot and a lot of rubber on the start line. Still a good start though and no mayhem on the first corner, chance to focus ahead and try to make more progress. Very satisfying to get past the Mk7 eventually, but I was unable to hold back Tom (A40) and Bruce (Magnette) very long, however am absolutely delighted with 12th place. First 6 laps from the forward camera here (fans of wheel-twirling and perfect gearchanges look away now): https://youtu.be/14gUU3HKYiA First 2 laps from the rearcam here: http://youtu.be/_cI44moyo3I Thanks for the pictures so far and would love to see more! |

Confess I missed much of the other races this year, too bloody cold for hanging about sadly. |

Unfortunately couldn't make the event myself but did see some coverage through the excellent online stream and also on Motors TV. Great coverage, looked like a really healthy crowd and some big competitive grids. Must say looked like a good'un

Hello tenthers just wondered if anybody noticed a dark silver Iveco race lorry doing a bit of a lap on Sunday morning,we were looking for somewhere to park and having been turned away from the main gate got sent to the paddock from gate 11 ! We did a short lap of the paddock and ended up in the car park by the motor homes to finally unload our cargo,a March 821,regards Scott

Thank you Bauble, one of me about to pass Rob Gravett. Like that's ever going to happen again. Sorry for all the teams who worked so hard only for gremlins to strike. Mr Bell especially has my commiserations.
Thanks also Gary C and Gary H. Hoping this process works, here's a few stills from the rearcam. |

Andrew, looked like you were going well, so I'm glad you had a good race. Those rear-looking stills are fab ... I love 'em ... and may even turn my own GoPro round next time! James |

Bob, you'd be surprised how many Tenthers were there. One-two is another - can you work out who he is?
Yimkin, I've emailed your Dad; hope he got it! |

Jochen Mass
what was he thinking ? words fail me........ on the other hand I ran out of fuel on the last lap of the FJ race going into the chicane it was tempting to try to coast to start finish line but in a split second decided to pull into the pits instead to avoid beeing a dangerous mobile chicane now I know I was right.. Remiss of me to not post a few from the pre-war race - I've included a Fraser Nash or two - I know they're JR's favourites.
