Borkovic and Kajaia could remain with the Alfas (maybe) but do they have the budget for Wtcr? The Hyundai could be out with the BRC team |

I think ROAL will be a Hyundai Team as well as the BRC team, yeah. DG Competition could be either a Peugeot or an Opel team. Sebastien Loeb Racing will be on the grid, probably with Peogeot.
Borkovic had enough money to compete in the TC1 WTCC, but couldn't fit in the car, and went to the TCR, so he'll have enough money to put the Alfa team on the grid, I think. Kia and Subaru will have difficulty getting any cars on the grid as they have not shown any potential so far. Maybe Comini could get a Subaru car on the grid, as he said that that car is the future of TCR, but I think he'll end up in the Comtoyou Audi for another year. Coronel has said (again) on Facebook that there are a number of options for him in the WTCR. There definately will be no problem to get the maximum of 26 cars on the grid. |

I read that the new 308 TCR will be just ready for April. A bit late considering that Marrakech (first round of WTCR) is on 8th April. |

Historically speaking every attempt to have faster touringcars (Class One DTM from 1993 to 1996, Italian V8, TC1) were dead ends after short periods of time. And quality will prevail in TCR as well as in any other series. Maybe gaps will be smaller tough.

Honestly saying, I would love to see 'European version of Supercars'. They are doing great racing over there, cars are exciting, fast and they are touring cars. Europe needs such a series and I think that DTM should go this path especially given the fact that they are on the crossroads now.
WTCR may be exciting but it won't be enough for 'main' touring car series in the world or at least in Europe. |

Well, I don´t think that this is a real problem. Sébastien Loeb Racing is closely linked to PSA and I´m sure that Peugeot Sport will make sure that they get at least two cars ready in time.

But WTCR is a long term Formula that could have a very big success. Blancpain is on the same page exept for the cars. GT3 cars are now quite expensive, but again it's working... |

GT3 is getting expensive indeed, but GT4 is gaining momentum at the right time as cheaper alternative.

I imagine Hyundai are a cert, Peugeot maybe in late 2018... Opel is a good chance, same for Alfa Subaru unlikely, Kia has pretty much fizzled out. |

I think the Kia or STARD could surprise us ala Romeo Ferraris, STARD is hiring mechanics for WRX, WRC and WTCR. Put in that what you like, but we could perhaps see STARD on the 2018 WTCR grid.

Maybe STARD had their reasons (financial) but they made the mistake not to enter TCR International or TCR Germany themselves last season. Without competing it's difficult to convince potential customers. I am sure it's a competitive car.

Hyundai doesn't want KIA on the grid.

Michigami back in Super GT with a NSX GT3. So no WTCR, maybe he could race only in Suzuka

Huff will be back 😊 Probably had plenty of options too! He was a man in demand in most series!

2 weeks to submit entries. So far not many teams confirmed. Not a good sign. The ridiculous entry fee by Eurosport Events certainly do not help.

I would say that despite this fee there will be 26-car grid in WTCR. For many teams of WTCC the fee is lower and for the biggest TCR teams that were on the sharp end of the field, moving to the WTCR is in fact an advancement. We've heard about three car team from Comtoyou, about the interest from Craft Bamboo, DG Sport is working on Peugeot programme, Hyundai will be there for sure, probably with BRC and so on and so forth. I'm not worried about the grid for 2018.
