As it stands now, there is no Audi either. If Audi wants competition, they are actually well-served by getting this rumour out now, because it could be useful to goad HPD/Honda into going head to head. Perhaps swiping Highcroft out from under them could be just the ticket in that regard too...

chernaudi already talked about what Peugeot will do if the ILMC goes under in another topic. What indication is there that it will? I say its off to a great start even though the announcement of the series came kind of late for this year. |

The ALMS has one LMP team with an all-pro driver lineup that does a full season. One! The rest are second-grade teams at best... the only thing that has been good about the ALMS this year is GT. |

No, those are opinions! PHR, Dyson, Drayson and CytoSport are all capable of running in the front of an LMS grid!

Okay, the RS Spyder is a terrible prototype and the factory drivers that are replacing Greg Pickett (Dumas, Bernhard, Luhr, Maassen) are dog slow

I´m talking about next season...
In the LMS we have ORECA with their own new car, possibly Prodrive-Aston Martin, possibly Peugeot.. And in the ALMS? If Highcroft gets the Audi gig, who's there to race them as of now? |

Dyson will still be in the ALMS so that is competition. They have had a history of beating Audi a few times. |

The ORECA 02 P1 car is on hold, yes.
Funny how a field filled with possible cars seems bigger than a field filled by a possible lack of cars. |

Actually i think there is more to this than our simple minds know yet so far. Would Audi really come back and not expect any competition. They chose ALMS over LMS. They also talked about how it was more attractive and easier to do alms. I think they are expecting Aston Martin in the states. If audi thinks alms is a better choice then you sure better believe Aston Martin knows that too. I think we will see a full season from aston martin with perhaps one car sponsored by lowe's with adrian fernandez and stephan mucke drving with sam hancock third driver(keep in mind sam hancock impressed at Lemans)(he was on the pace of the fastest aston.

Patron Highcroft Racing
Expect to see a patron highcroft racing aston martin in P1 ALMS next year. The david brabham ties to Aston Martin will make that come true. Audi would never let simon pagenaud into there car which eliminates Patron highcroft racing's diesel prototype bid. Pagenaud is factory peugeot driver. they said 6 cars will be built i think
Prodrive Aston Martin x2 To be run at Lemans and ILMC. One car for petit to compensate for Highcroft. Highcroft racing x1 To be run in ALMS and lemans Signature Plus? x1 Spare Chassis x2 |

HPD is a bit of a mystery. they say they have an engine but no car for either lmp1 or lmp2. Actually im not sure. they have the 3.4 litre V8 which is the2011 reg maximum for petrol. If they bulked of the hpd arx01c chassis it could make lmp1. It has proven to be outstanding in LMS.
