McKenna has injured his hand in a testing accident at Oulton Park, therefore he did not take part in todays test at Rockingham.
Looked as though KMR had an expensive day, with Erickson shunting fairly heavily, and Cammish causing minor damage to his Spectrum. |

Daniel Erickson crash was not that bad. Just caught the wall at the hairpin on the oval and took the front right corner off. Dan Cammish only slightly bent the front left top wishbone and broke a steering arm turnbuckle after miss judging how slipply the grass is when re joining the track after over shooting his braking at the first chicane.
Quickest car during the test was De Witt in the Getem with a 1m 21.26 (or a 1m 21.0 if you speak to 08u05 ) James Cole was next on a 1m 21.4 and Alex Jones in 3rd with a 1m 21.98 |

I've heard from drivers that have hit things, forgetting to let go of the steering wheel, that the time period before they can drive competitively again is anything from 4 - 8 weeks.

Interesting to see on the teams list on the official BFF website that Aquila are being represented by Julian Hoskins (?). Anyone have any information on this, would bring the number of chassis manufacturers to 9 if they race this year.

Anyone have any update on the McKenna situation? I know that Cole managed to drive at the Festival with an injured hand (did a very good job too) but this sounds like it could be more serious? Has Newgarden been out anywhere yet in the JTR? |

The Getem chassis should be seen some time this year.
According to the BFF website, Mark Harper is driving for Inter Motorsport, not GWR. |

Don't actually recall Paddy or any other 1600 driver in the last few years having any trouble blowing away any "tough" nw guys......for some reason it does turn out some rather average talent.....don't worry about McKenna he will be Jamun team leader in no time!

Jamun, Fluid, Enigma, Juno and Minister were at Donington, with James Cole setting the pace. Fluid and JTR were testing at Snetterton, Findlay being fastest there. |

Ah yes, forgot about them, sorry! Antti Buri testing the MTec. I heard they had a few car problems so didn't do many laps.

Buri (Comtec) and Cunill (Mygale) at Brands today.
Both seemed to have a drama-free day (didn`t see last session). Was impressed by Cunill, who seemed to be getting to grips very quickly with the circuit given that (as far as I know) he`d not been round it before. |

No worries mate, I just heard Newgarden posted the quick time and that Findlay was second quick.
I believe I heard the times were a 1.10 flat for Newgarden and a 1.10.4 for Findlay with the rest of the fluid boys in the high 1.10 to low 1.11's. |

I've heard from two different individuals now who were at Snetterton, one impartial. Findlay set a 09.4, which is very impressive as I understand his car is not yet 2009 spec. I believe it was JTR's first test of the year with their 09 drivers and cars, so this was more of a shakedown for them.
It's looking like it's going to be another great year!! |

Didn't Joey Foster and Valle Makela set 1 minute 8secs lap times in 2003 at Snett? I remember it was hot conditions that year, but they were still using Zetecs obviously. Has the Duratec broken most lap records now?

What is the quickest a Duratec has gone round Snetterton then? Obviously lap records are from the races, but qualifying? I have just found the results from 2003 that I was talking about, but its from qualifying (below). I can't find the race results which is annoying, but I was sure that something like 20 Zetecs went under 1.10s
1. Valle Makela FIN Nexa Racing Van Diemen RF03 1m08.814sec 2. Ben Clucas GBR Jamun Racing Mygale SJ2001 1m08.841sec 3. Joey Foster GBR Continental Racing Van Diemen RF03 1m08.907sec 4. Tom Kimber-Smith GBR Team JLR Van Diemen RF03 1m08.909sec 5. Alex Danielsson SWE Ray Sport Ray GRS032 1m08.974sec |

The times in 03 were a bit of a one off I think! It was when FFord was on the same bill as the touring cars. The Fords were out after the touring cars and hence benefitted from the track being covered in a lot of sticky rubber!
I am pretty sure that Zetecs have been in the high 9's at Snett on a normal day. |

The day you are talking about was exceptional, if I remember correctly the top 19 cars were separated by nine tenths of a second. I know Joey Foster did only two flying laps and then came in as he knew there was no more time to be gained. It was the same weekend dangerous Dan (Clarke) did about 30k of damage to his Comtec in two or three different shunts.
