If I understand this the right way, it would be an extremely bad idea for me (..or anyone else for that matter..) to invest in, let`s say for the case of a good arguement, the Aucott MC 12 for it to run in LMS and FIA GT1 and selected ALMS races in 2010 since it will be obsolete in 2011 already.
That would be at + 1.000.000 EUR investment that had to be realised in 1 year..That´s bad business if I ever saw one.. It sounds to me as if it´s far better for privateers with serious GT ambitions to stay in the FIA GT3 instead of persuing GT1 alltogether. |

Do you reckon buying an MC12 would be a 1000000€ investment? Phoenix are selling one of their Corvettes for 380000€... |

It´s highly visible any way you look at it because it´s so unique in the racing community, and I think it´s precisely why Vitaphone went down that road when it became time for them to chose a racer. I would invest money in that car hands down if only I could be sure that it could run in international serie in the full period of a lease contract of 3 years which is sadly not the case. |

How likely are we to see Nissan or Ford do a full season of LMS or Asian LMS?
And as much as I'd like to see the Nissan in GT, I wish that they'd do it in GT2 with a proper homologated engine & go up against the big boys. The most likely out of the GT1 machines is the Maserati, unfortunately, it would be a shame for that car to make it to the LM24 grid without going against Corvette Racing. BTW, this FIA GT1 deal for 2010 only as far as we know, correct? |

If the cost to run at LM is run in the LMS, Nissan will be there.

Does anyone have a calendar yet, even if it is a draft?
Will the series even go ahead? |

Maserati is one of those brands where cars with significant race provenance can fetch high prices with collectors. If for just one year one or two MC12's made it to Le Mans then those cars would have some serious added value - it may just be worth it??

So, will Eastern Creek in Australia get a round of the championship? What are the chances?

With respect to the Nissan GTR and a bid at GT2, cars are not allowed forced induction, are they? I can't imagine a 6 cylinder N/A engine based on the road going powerplant would be very competative.

So, you would prefer they just not race then? The problem is that the FIA and ACO rules really penalize turbo charged engines. If it were possible to compete with a turbo engine, then they would have likely run a Turbo V6. However, they didn't design the car to be a race car first, but a road car.
