2.5 Driving Time
2.5.1 Driving Time will be measured from the start of the race until the last time the driver crosses the control line at the pit lane entry before leaving the automobile. 2.5.2 Subsequently, driving time will be measured for each driver from the time that driver first crosses the control line after rejoining the circuit through Pit Exit, until the last time the driver crosses the control line at pit lane entry or until the car crosses the control line on the circuit at the end of the race. 2.5.3 The maximum continuous driving time for any driver in the race is three (3) hours. 2.5.4 A minimum of a one (1) hour rest period between each driving period for each driver during the race is required, regardless of the duration of any driving period. 2.5.5 The total cumulative driving time for each driver during the race must not exceed five (5) hours. 2.5.6 In the event of a car remaining stationary for a continuous period exceeding one (1) hour it will be deemed as a compulsory rest period. |

Luff also knows his way around the mountain pretty well too. It's a great team - perhaps a little too great, given the regulations? |

Craig's on and off track demeanor would make him a natural for sports car endurance racing overseas. Unfortunately, I can't see it happening anytime soon, however, it will be good to see him with a gun team and car in the Joest Audi R8. I wonder if Dr Ullrich will make an appearance, if only to get away from the northern hemisphere winter.

Fantastic to hear Team Joest will be running the R8s at Bathurst. I can't wait to get to Bathurst, this will be the best 12 hour yet (apart from all the ones that the RX-7 won...)!

Fantastic news to hear that Joest is taking part in the race-even better that Lowndes is confirmed, he should get up to speed with the R8 very quickly, he adapts well to different types of racecars. Hopefully Joests interest in the race prompts other Euro teams to come downunder.
Also would love to see Audi bring one of the LMPs downunder, if it did happen (big if) then it would be a R10 or an R15 and it would no doubt smash the two minute mark. |

Is there a GT3-homologated Peugeot available? Mr Bourdais could come back with his fellow Frenchmen...

Good to see there will be some competition for Freestone's Corvette in that class.

I believe that the BMW M3 is the Beric Lynton car.
Mark O'Connor's Exige is a good bet for one of the other Lotuseseses. |

Yes with a brand new Porsche GT3R (no Aston-what a shame). No idea on who's driving-probably be Tony and two others. Auto Fiction was saying this week that Steve Owen wont be in the car (VIP sponsor him in V8s).
Anyone running a Mosler? |

Klark Quinn and Craig Baird are the other two drivers for the VIP Porsche.
Dean Grant has entered his Mosler with Max Twigg and Dean Grant the other two drivers. Steve Owen will share the Porsche with the Koundouris brothers, a deal done weeks before Owen received 2011 V8 support from VIP Petfoods. It sure is shaping up to be a good race, plenty of quality, although only 10-15 production cars from what I hear. |

Organisers were saying that they expected a grid of 30 cars with 10 in outright. Should indeed be a good race in both GT and production ranks.
Great to see a Mosler entered. Wonder if anyone got in contact with Martin Short? |

Dean Herridge has entered a Subaru WRX in class D. He will be joined by John O'Dowd and Angus Kennard.
I believe that Class A and C have a strong entry, other classes only have about 3/4 entries at best. |

Is 30 considered a good entry (given the previous ones have been in the 40s) given they've had practically a years warning?

Depends on whether you are judging success and failure purely on the quantity of entries rather than the quality, and the competitiveness of the race itself.
The race wasn't growing as well as expected in its old prodcar format so maybe we will see more Gts next year. Time will tell. |

Trouble is it's "niether fish nor fowl ".
They have set back a growing prodcar entrant group but not produced a genuine GT International event. Probably have destroyed the prodcar possibilty so next year should be a full on GT3 no holds barred, no driver restriction, no success ballast International event. Then we have to hope that the other production car wvents that have appeared round the country can revive that class. Oh! yes. Move it further away from the Dubai 24hr date as well if they want to attract some overseas entrants. Last edited by Oldtony; 6 Jan 2011 at 09:55. Reason: mention Dubai |
