engine sounds
i was lucky enough to be in malaysia on the weekend and i dont like the new engines - they drone, and whilst being able to have a conversation during a GP is novel , they lack in any "emotion" .

Surprisingly to me, I must admit that the lack of noise doesn't worry me.
I do however have a large noise induced hole in my hearing!

The sound picked up by some random ambience mike at a GP is largely irrelevant to my enjoyment of a race.

I surprise even myself sometimes!

Looks like we're stuck with it. The sound can't be changed apparently.

so is the 'lack of noise' argument a shell game to allow for engine modifications, up revs, and increase fuel flow rates?

if so its a very simple and elegant manipulation...worthy of the grand master BE himself.

Possibly. Even though I'd prefer a nicer [not necessarily louder] sound from the engines... I honestly can't believe how much mileage this noise problem's getting. It does reek of BE's involvement... and an ulterior motive, doesn't it.

Of course it can't be changed... The only way of "changing" the sound would be altering the exhaust in some way, and even then it would require technical alterations.
