From the telecast, it seemed to me the big screens were really in place for the seated, and screens for GA were a little light on. Maybe thats one thing they could improve for 2018. For a track I have not been to before I would probably play it safe and make sure there's a seat (and screen) for me (and likely wife + child) but yes, it adds up fast. Hairpin area looked like a great spot if the weather was kind. Cheers for the feedback, it really did look great on the teev, and we spent all Saturday at home talking about a visit. |

I tell ya what how good was the race compared to the F1 procession later in the evening. They may as well use remote control on F1 cars, follow the leader.

Dunno about that. RC racing I've seen makes the weekend's Supercar event look tame.

Toad racing is where it's at. Makes all motor racing look quite stale.

I turned to the person next to me when he entered pit lane and suggested to them that Scott was not down to speed when he hit the line, was not suprised when the penalty came up.
Such a big reduction in speed over the last car length when you push it to the edge |

The Nissans were having trouble stopping at the pit lane entry in practice on Saturday, they locked up and slid uncontrolled past the speed measure line. Lucky they didn’t get pinged. It seemed a team/car thing for them. They obviously fixed it.

It looked strange on the video, and the speed telemetry froze up for a second there at the critical point. It certainly looked like, if SM was getting pinged, SvG should have done also.
And why didn't they have the issue Saturday, but did on Sunday? And no, GTR, Tim Schenken is a mere mortal man like the rest of us, so he and his decisions are not above reproach. |

Teams tried to challenge the VFL in court in the late 80s and the precedent was set then. These pseudo private organisations charters effectively nullify the right to sue under them.

If you're going to be litigeous over the outcome of a sporting event, you shouldn't be involved in it.
You go into it knowing full well that a call mightn't go your way, just as you would, getting let off the hook over something you may well have been guilty of. That's the underlying nature of competition. |

Newcastle’s ‘embarrassing’ Queens Wharf Tower to be demolished
was a useful reference point on the weekend |

The water was fine, finding an entrance gate was the complicated part. Sunday better than Saturday but no logical reason exists to not label Gate 1 as Gate 1..

There were maps up around the place and surely anyone who came in via one entrance would at least know how to get back to that place for exit? I'm struggling to understand the problem GTR? |

Was I the only one to notice Lowdnes' bump on McLaughlin's left rear qtr-panel on the lead up to turn two, a couple of seconds before the 'title deciding' incident?
It makes you wonder if Lowndes would have passed McLaughlins C pillar by the incident scene, if he hadn't have made that little bump.... |

Full rundown of how the penalties against 17 were done from the DSA: Bairdo speaks
All makes sense to me I have to say. |

The penalties were always ther in my opinion
Im a bit concerned by his justification of the difference between J Dub at NZ and Scott at Newcastle though. If you run someone out of track then surely there has to be a penalty |

Maybe environmental considerations are taken into account, ie: grass verge v concrete wall?
