Chilton in at BTC will be interesting. It’ll be tough to gain superiority over Cook. But two experienced race winners is definitely a good move for the team. Both should be up there.

Smith staying with Excelr8, it would be good if they could get an experienced hand to help development of the Hyundai, but it all depends on budget

Presumably now Bert isn't in charge it wasn't a given that he'd be back.

I believe Smiley was an option for the 3rd BTC car but was short on budget, like you say now it’s not Bert’s team Smiley was no longer a ‘given’ but we’ll soon find out who it is.

Jade Edwards will probably not be in BTCC now after all, up to yesterday her website was declaring her as the first woman to enter the series for XX years and she had BTCC sponsorship opportunities available.
Today it has been changed to "2020 plans will be announced shortly" and the BTCC test pictures have gone

As we said recently perhaps she should have a year or two in the Mini Challenge or at least stay on the support series and build herself up a bit more.

I would say she can be moved down into "entries with doubt" now for the listers among you

The Civic is arguably one of the best cars on the grid. Not sure I'd put BTC in the top tier but they are more than capable as a team.

This should be Chilton's opportunity to prove he is as good as he thinks he is. Although I have feeling we may have said that in the past already.

Reckon he'll move down. Would be very surprised if PMR, Motorbase, BTC, etc. haven't already got much better prospects signed or in talks.

Definitely a fan favourite but, like Edwards, needs a couple years in the supports.

Probably means Coates is most likely in the third VW, then?

okay chilton has a fk8, one of the top 3 cars, can he actually win this year, he has been part of the btcc since 2002 in and out tho... him, plato, neal and collard are the hardest of the hardcore

Unpopular opinion. BTC's driver line up is stronger than the works team.

I do wonder what Motorbase have up their sleeve, if anything? Maybe that's where Creesey is heading.

Interesting thought. It might turn out to be true.
One way of looking at it though is:
TD have a multiple champion and a driver who came a few laps away from a title in his second season.
BTC have a driver who came 3rd after 12 years of trying, and a driver who came 4th in his 5th year.

It will definitely be worth watching how those two teams compare for results in 2020.

The last time I remember motorbase missing the autosport show was 2015, just after they lost a title sponsor who they were struggling to replace and pulled out at short notice a week or so before the start of the season.
Considering twitter silence since November, let's hope it isn't history repeating
