I like the cross-over Joe. Have you agreed who has right of way, or is it like in USA where everyone stops, then takes it it turn? Peter, there are some scrappers near me that would take that old shell if you need to get rid! Looking good- bet you are getting itchy throttle foot? |

Yup, gearbox built, engine in build, suspension being refurbed, diff being built up, all the other panels prepped for final spraying, glass and trim ready to fit, the list goes on. Wheels may be an issue because the original Ronals are somewhat knackered. However I may try to get away with Minilites seeing as they are easier to source. And I know the Allam car used Minilites at Silverstone for the 1981 GP support because one of the Ronals was cracked. I've posted this elsewhere but I have pics of the old doors that show the original Triplex colours, covered with the Daily Express 1981 paintwork and over that the Sanyo 1982 colours. http://mallettracing.blogspot.ae/201...ave-axisa.html |

Peter, if you are looking at genuine wheels (and am sure you would be!) be warned about speed of delivery if they do not have castings in stock. My previous comment about 9 months gestation period for two wheels that had to be cast refers.......

I know that's why I may have to go for Minilites.

Looking good Peter . . . just bought a triplex one myself . . . . 12v, 1/32 scale!
Iain, our workshop is bigger than the front room . . . insulated, heated and with a 4 speaker hi-fi and a barrel of beer in the corner. . . . current circuit is a warm up . . . its about half the track we have, it will grow, crossroads maximise track in the space but can be troublesome. we have flyovers and legs which are handy so we can do a Suzuka-esque over pass, sort of eu rouge over 'Bridge' I've been thinking. |

The sister car to the one in my garage has appeared out of nowhere and features in Autosport. Does anyone know the gentlemen mentioned as I would like to get in touch to share notes. I also see the car is to appear with the CSCC Special Saloons which presumably would make mine also eligible especially as I have footage of the thing racing in the original series. nice see someone else has seen fit to put some money into one of these cars.

BTW I have actual TV footage on YouTube with Al Unser driving my beige version but then again in an earlier race Richard Petty is driving mine and leading the race for a few laps so you don't have to guess who's names going on the side of mine! I'm suddenly getting the incentive to get the project underway again and may start this weekend as it now looks worth while investing in the project and I have 90% of the parts I need.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLr93R4BzA8 Watch Part 2 to see what happened to Al that day! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0XmaTsa-rI Last edited by Al Weyman; 22 Nov 2013 at 14:16. |

Why not change your name by deed poll to Unser.........
I could change my surname to Petty if you wanted to do a share-drive |

Hmm, not sure "Unser Weyman" would work.
