Grid appears pretty much sorted now, with Josh Cook and Senna Proctor joining Edwards at BTC, Ricky Collard joining Butcher at Speedworks and Jac Constable at Power Maxed. The only real question is Nic Hamilton or Sam Smelt at Team HARD.
Whether or not it is a stronger grid or not remains to be seen, and it is probably similar. The big plus is the return of Dan Cammish, as well as Ricky Collard back and Tom Chilton in a car he will probably be more competitive in. The rookie crop of George Gamble, Dexter Patterson and Jac Constable should be decent too. The biggest negative is losing Jason Plato and not getting Matt Neal back, but I don't think it is over for either of these two legends. It's also a shame to see Tom Oliphant and Chris Smiley lost from the grid. I would categorise next year's drivers as follows: Title contenders: Ash Sutton Dan Cammish Colin Turkington Jake Hill Tom Ingram Rory Butcher Gordon Shedden Dan Rowbottom Josh Cook Likely race winners or podium finishers: Adam Morgan Tom Chilton Dan Lloyd Senna Proctor Stephen Jelley Aiden Moffat Ricky Collard Ollie Jackson Lower midfield: George Gamble Dexter Patterson Michael Crees Jac Constable Jack Goff Aron Taylor-Smith Bobby Thompson Sam Osborne Backmarkers: Jack Butel Rick Parfitt Jr Jade Edwards Nic Hamilton/Sam Smelt |

Rose to 24, with 10 Pros. Kiern Jewiss, Will Martin, Seb Morris, Adam Smalley, Gus Burton as title favourites?
Looks like 24 too for Ginetta Juniors, but only 14 for GT4 Supercup. At least those that set a time during the day. |

Hill's livery as expected from Rokit, but wow they didn't put any effort at all into that one!

Wow the livery designers really knocked it out the park for the Rokit BMW! Did they just take the stickers of Oliphants car and replace with their own ones?

If the grid looks like that in the end, I'm happy. There are quite a few strong names there, Motorbase (the NAPA side of the garage that is) looks extremely strong with Sutton and Cammish (so good he's back), WSR has an arguably stronger trio than in past two seasons, Speedworks (provided Ricky Collard is in a second car) could finally be a two-car team, not a single-car operation, Excelr8 looks better than ever with Ingram (likely a title contender) and Lloyd and Chilton as the guys who can for sure contend for some podiums and possibly even wins. If BTC keeps their trio, then we have two really good drivers in Cook and Proctor and a real chance of at least one of them making a case for the championship title. Don't forget Dynamics of course, Shedden seems like he's slowly getting back to his full speed and Rowbottom showed glimpses of being something more than an upper-middle-of-the pack driver. This is already a very strong grid. As for the rest, there are natural backmarkers there but also likes of Morgan, Moffat or Jackson, plus quite an interesting perspective of seeing how Gamble and Patterson fare in their debut seasons. And a perennial question - can HARD become something more than just hopeless backmarkers? With Goff and Taylor-Smith that may be quite a valid question. So, all in all, in my opinion, this is shaping up to be a very good season with really an enough number of 'top-class' drivers. As for Plato and Neal, well, their time's come. They're legends of the sport, they've achieved a lot but in my (personal) view, their appearance doesn't add anything in particular to the grid so I won't miss Plato and don't miss Neal. The only sad thing about their potential retirement is that the current situation appears like both of them didn't have a chance to announce retirement and have a 'farewell tour.' Anyway, I'm pretty sure it'll be a fantastic season. |

I’m not sure Jac Constable going to be at PMR, there was a Cupra with his name on the window at the TCR media day on track

And for the avoidance of any doubt, I am a big fan of Proctor. My local racer.
