thats very strange. for 2018 they opened their entries early in december 2017.
now for this year they are looking to open their entries "in the next few weeks or so"? so thats in february sometime or even march

their website doesnt even list their 2019 calendar. it still gives last years; https://tcruk.co.uk/index.php/calendar

they look like theyre in a complete mess.

I seem to remember there was some excuse for it last season, like a motor show in Switzerland or something

yes, because the local and national racing journalists that would have gone to a silverstone tcr media day are the same general motoring media that had to jet off to the geneva motorshow and which they only just realised a few days before

of course it had nothing to do with the embarrasingly low entry after all the hype

Oh trust me it was a media day despite what they said! I think i was the only spectator there to watch what was going and even then you could tell there were problems as it all seamed rushed and not well organised.

Back to this year, if they going to open up registrations for this years championship in a few weeks, how do they expect to get any entries as surely by that time every other championship will have or will be in the process of finalising their entries and getting their press and media ready to send out?

i see they are making a big song and dance about reducing their entry fees but they dont mention the fact they have now stopped refunding those entry fees to teams doing all the rounds like they did last year

so the actual cost of the entry is now more for those teams than before!

smoke and mirrors

At least it seems to be positioned more at the wealthy amateur now, which is more what it should have been from the start. Too little, too late?

Problem is Warren Scott is no longer wealthy. Rumours suggest same of Simon Belcher. I'll get my coat...

Have money, go racing. Have no money anymore, don't go racing anymore.

I can remember a car in NASCAR a few years back with running number 00.

Maybe that is the double digit they're aiming for? 🤔

A few months ago we were saying how the grid couldn't possibly get any smaller than 2018. Now it's looks like it won't even beat the 3 cars of TCR Middle East.

Not surprising.

They're in the business of leasing and servicing race cars. No point running in a series where they'd have to potentially run at a loss just to get someone in a seat.

TCR Germany is significantly more appealing than TCR UK right now. They have a good relationship with JAS, and have proven they can run competitively anywhere, so they shouldn't have any problems getting drivers with budgets.

Unless there is a sudden wave of entries announced, I can’t see this series happening this season

the only bit of interest I took from that was that Dan Lloyd clearly isnt retained in the BTC entry for BTCC 2019, the TCR stuff was just waffle
