TLD bought it from Bellm for the 85 season, while the latter and Spice built the GC85 for C2. TLD used it in T'Sports from 1985, then into 1986 with the turbo DFL, which as you say burnt out at Brno. Shame as it had started to go better, IIRC there was a good article in MN in mid-86 about Tim and the project. Would have been nice to see the car alongside the Tiga Lambo taking on the 962s/Jags/Sauber into 1987!

The other 2 cars must be GC285-294 and GC284-277 not sure why but for some reason 294 with the blue chin(I think)was possibly replated as 318.
Anyone know when and why it was rebadged 318 because chassis 318 was a TS85 thundersport open car then converted to enclosed C2 spec, was run in British C2 by chamberlain and has belonged to Harry Harfeldt for a couple of decades.

This is based on an old Tiga C2. No chassis number looks like a bitsa special.

Thundersports should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
This seems a daft way to use it surely it would have been better to build it back up to it's original spec.

Bit of a tricky one.

I think the car had way more success and was around longer in its 'lotus' era so in many ways i think it better represents the chassis in that form rather than as the Tiga C2.

But on the other hand there can never be enough Grp c cars about.

I managed to finally get out in my ex Roy Baker '85 Tiga BDT this year in BRSCC OSS championship on the Silverstone GP circuit.
Never having driven the car prior to this, in fact only ever having had the pleasure of paddles up until this, I did a 3 session shakedown on the Friday, Qually and a 20 minute race Saturday and then 2 more sunday. I ran very little boost by using a road car wastegate spring so power was way down, but plenty enough to scare.
Finished all 3 races and wasn't last. What a great experience.
It was the oldest car there by probably 25 years!
I just wish there was somewhere in this country to race against similar cars of that era.
