Yes we like it very much Klaus. If you can spare the occassional image that's great. Personally, I enjoy your recollections too.

A matra ?

I vote 630 the firts V12 one (not in its 68 livery though).
It's the birth of pescarolo's legend. The 640 could have caught him.
Picture taken at Montlhéry, unfortunately in the 90's

Chofar I think I raced against the Lambo at Nogaro in 1971 in a group 6 race. I don't remember what happened to the Miura but I ended in the scenery!!!

Tell us more Roger.
It's most interesting to read about the rare cars.
But I found this link on the Sports Car board.
I hope no one mind our pinching it!

No pics of the Gulf 917 yet?

That and the Ferrari P4 would be my favourites from that era, though many of you will know my all time favourite is the 956/962!

You could do worse than look at www.jacky-ickx-fan.com plenty of 956/62 shots, but more to the point, some great photos of the great man in 312's GT40s etc, (plus one or two by yours truly)
The galley there is large and growing all the time.

here is the matra, when it was out at Spa in 1968 1000km, but the race did not last very long, and before the end, it was back on its trailer .

it does however look like some crates off a passing truck fell onto the hood, as it definately has a rather squershed look up front doesn't it?

If you are ever in the Frankfurt area of Germany, about an hour or so north from Hockenheim, is the fantastic Rosso Bianco sportscar museum - the worlds biggest and best.
I took these pics there a few years ago. Well over 200 cars are displayed and many are still raced and on show in between events. The museum has the largest collection of Ferrari's in the world and the same goes for Alfa's, Lola's, McLarens - lots of Can ams. Well worth a visit. Most are owned by the museum's founder and collector, Peter Kaus. Check out their site http://www.rosso-bianco.de

Same race. It was a very sad and tragic Gold Cup. Australian Paul Hawkins shown here in his T70 shortly before his fatal accident at Esso Bend.

A superb little Chevron B16. In my opinion, Derek Bennett's
most beautiful design. This was at Snetterton in 2001, the Michael Schryver owned car with Simon Hadfield at the wheel.
