"The story behind the rock" $300!!!!!

http://www.speedcafe.com/2012/09/03/...-to-be-solved/

Was very excited about this until I saw how much it was. Is it really worth $300 for that line up? No disrespect but WTF is Murph doing there pretty sure he had nothing to do with Tru Blue in 1980??

Would need to be one hell of a feed and the 'Mystery guest' better be believable!!!

Still might see if I can find the money..

I thought the story had been long ago told in AMC? And the story apparently was that it wasn't something intentional.

I hardly doubt it's going to be that exciting. "Well I was sitting on a hill at Bathurst 32 years ago, someone slipped and shifted a rock and it rolled downhill and DJ ran over it."

I love DJ and all and I know that sometimes in our life odd circumstances can change the path of our life and also that I'm sure it means a lot to DJ because it's his life, but someone needs to put that rock in their garden and be done with it.

The famous rock, which is insured for more than $1 million, will also be on display for photographs with dinner guests.
I'm a longtimer DJR fan too, the year of the rock I remember very well and likely is the reason I was locked in as a lifelong DJR fan, but that quote there makes me think of the Simpsons and the inanimate carbon rod

I have a rock in the garden, give me $200 and I'll take your photo standing next to it.

Yeh, it'll cost me $200 to get it mounted on a snazzy base so I can charge $300 to lots of people to have their photo taken with it

Geez you'll have some pretty ****ed off dinner guests if that happens

Murph will be there so maybe he'll get into an argument with someone-that'd be worth paying money to see

In this clip from a few years ago, Dick explains the "real" story of the rock. Hmm, $300 a head dinner . . . nothing to see here folks

Looks like poor old Dick is scraping the barrel for fund raising.

Like $500 for a few "hot" laps..........

They were selling these at the open day yesterday.

Dick $500
Paul Morris $300
Current team drivers $200 each.

Interestingly, they must have made an absolute bundle from all the merchandise sales yesterday, the counter was constantly busy.
