Bernie's Historic V8's at Brands Hatch Speedfest 9/6/13
The Speedfest is looking bigger and better by the day now its going to be supported by TV advertising here is the ad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UosH-r6-6os so lets not complain that the circuit owners are not supporting this NASCAR sponsored event and UK mororsport. Here is another link to the Brands Hatch Speedfest page. http://www.speedfest.co.uk/
I spoke with Bernie today and its looking like we are heading for a full grid with a great mix of cars so this is one not to miss if you have any interest at all in powerful V8 engined cars, NASCAR and and the American automobile scene. Any owners of Classic American cars who fancy a cruise down to the circuit are welcome to meet up with Bernies son Adam who will be setting off for the circuit from the South Mimms Service station, leaving at 9:30am on the morning of the race. You need to apply on the Speedfest link for free entry to the circuit and to display at the circuit but be quick as due to high demand you only have till the 25th May to apply. |

No it was nothing to do with the event but may well be there again, there are a lot of car clubs coming so I understand including the Mustang Car Club.

Yep, Mustang Owners Club will be there in force as they've made it the Annual Show. The official MOC parking will be on South Bank though there will be loads more in with the 'other' parking. Mopar owners club are supposed to be out in force too. Looking like a yank enthusiasts dream event. Looking forward to the barbeques myself

I hope that Bert Smeets turn up with the Challenger, I can guarantee the MOPAR enthusiasts will love that car. I was hoping my mate would have his fastback back together in time, he is uprating the brakes and fitting a Tremec but dont think it will be ready.

Yep, saw that Phil put his entry in
According to FB Bert is coming though I know he wasn't happy about having to run silenced which I presume we are. Quite funny, I know a lot of the Mustang road cars that will be there will sound better than our race cars - must admit I think that a lot of the first timer spectators will be a bit dissapointed in that respect. |

I had 112dB at Mettet a few weeks ago. We had to silence the car in a hurry. Incredible how much power we lost in the race.

I agree Moose anyhow here is some exciting news for lovers of the old Thundersaloons, the Stars and Stripes Manta will be coming out to play with Bernies V8's at Brands hatch on the 9th June, anyone who knows of this iconic and famous machine will know its a must see. Dave Tetley (owner) son will be driving the car in the invitation class and will have to be shod with treaded tyres.

The cruise from the South Mimms Service Station has been cancelled as the event is a sell out and American classics have to be at the track by 9.00am to get there place to display their cars. However I understand that anyone arriving in a classic will still get a free entry. The South Bank has been designated to the Mustang Owners Club and a huge display of Mustangs is expected. This event is going to be big!

Can you get that line-up up here to Oulton (Full circuit, Al ), pretty please?
With the new bridge its easy to get to the outside of the circuit to stand right by the side of the grid......I'd just love to be there to hear and feel that lot taking off from the start! |
