That wasn't stipulated in the question.
Is there a different book for FIA regs? |

No but actually there is very little cost difference between an FIA seat and a non FIA seat so I'd go for one anyway. The other point is that you'll get the chance to race at Spa or in other countries and as such you'd be best having FIA approved equipment anyway. We've debated it ad infinitum but whilst at the moment the Blue Book doesn't require it, it won't be long before it does.
Race suits, fire extinguishers, harnesses are all coming into "line" anyway. So, if you are building anew then plan for the future rather than obselesence. Good luck BTW. |

So how would I stand, or sit, with my car? I can't fit any race seat without cutting the inside of the body away. The seat I have is moulded to the shape of the body tub and is more like a pair of cusions than a seat.

.[/QUOTE] Is this info offical or is it speculation? Not all cars have conventional/off the shelf seats. Would every seat have to be tested/approved? |

Peter is correct about bringing things into line with the FIA, normaly they hold out for a few years and and then bring it in. So would agree if you are putting a seat in make it FIA.
And check your belts as well there has already been a number of problems with 'out of date' belts. |

AFAIK it includes historics.
FWIW I saw a seat advewrtised in Demon Tweeks as FIA approved for around the £130.00 mark. It's probably low on padding but it complies. |
