i don't think speeds are up any from last year with the different plate or are the running a different plate?

EDIT: i take back what i said above about comparing Mikey to Cope...Mikey 4th quickest in a #51 with Cope still hanging in the garage, or something....

Martin & Cope never took to the track during practice (Hamlin never got his back up on track) and all will start from the rear...Jeff Burton took the 29 around so it would get some laps and starting spot from the draw (shows Clint B on the charts?)

drawing tonight for starting spots. they should do that more often...

Looked like a normal RP deal to me - Hamlin was coming up pretty fast on Martin, being pushed from behind, and Martin was a little slow moving up in front which resulted in the touch.

If anything Martin's spotter should've let him know sooner that Hamlin was coming in a hurry.

yes & no...maybe.

is it fair that drivers who have been around longer and won more races get paid more for finishing in the same position as less experienced drivers?

i'd say the fact shootout drivers have more track time gives them a slight advantage over the others, but much like the race winnings, they have earned it from previous year's performance (Cope's previous year's performance was 1990

). however, the last practice and the shootout are at night, so it may give them an advantage for a set up towards the end of the race, since the 500 now finishes at night, which is also good and bad, IMO.

after that mouthful, i think it is all relative....

Nah, they typically use a different car. There's plenty of testing two weeks prior to the race and if you wreck a car it's arguably a disadvantage.

Hey guys, not really a Nascar fan but I'm curious about the question above.

I can't find a definitive statement to know if Elliot Saddler, or anyone else, is carrying Stanley Tool sponsorship in 2010. Can you help me out?

Hunt Bro's Pizza is only for 6 races, I heard. Stanley Tools is the primary, I believe.
