Thaw Daggerslash should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
British GT 2013

Given all the news surrounding this series, I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread for this already.

After arguably the best year for British GT ever in 2012, it goes from strength to strength for 2013. There's talk that there will be close to, or even over, 30 cars in the GT3 class this year.

It is quality entries too. The likes of AF Course, Vita4one, and others entering just proves it.

I'm definitely determined to attend one or two rounds this year.

Was literally just thinking about a thread listening to the guys on MWM.

Sounds like it's really stepping up another couple of levels for 2013. Was at Donington last year but will definitely try and get to a couple more rounds this year.

Would be great if someone more qualified than me could put together a provisional entry list. Seems like a LOT of quality two car teams.

Vitaphone doing Brit GT - when did that come up?!

But yeah, with ADAC GT likely suffering from some self inflicted wounds, British GT will probably be the strongest national series this season.

Think it was Vita4One Italia that was mentioned.

Also Graham Goodwin touted Team Dynamics from the BTCC might be involved with a hook-up involving a McLaren.

Awesome stuff potentially.

Had my sights on the opening round at Oulton originally, now have to wait probably for September when they visit Zandvoort.

Here's the schedule:
April 1 - Oulton Park
May 6 - Rockingham
May 26 - Silverstone
June 16 - Snetterton
August 11 - Brands Hatch
September 8 - Zandvoort
October 6 - Donington Park

Guess it is useful posting this here. DSC ran a list of confirmed and possibly entries recently. Things have happened since and it hasn't been updated, but it gives you an idea at least of what has definitely been confirmed so far.

Entries are looking seriously strong for this year. If the racing is anything like last year then this could be a cracking year. I was reading something recently that described British GT as the UK's best kept motor sport secret, I couldn't agree more.

Tweet from Shaun Hollamby on Twitter (team owner of AmD in the BTCC):

Quote:
If there are any Britsh GT car owners out there, AmD would be interested in running a @britishgt car alongside our BTCC team.

Can't blame the BTCC teams for getting involved. All the British GT now is better promotion and a better TV deal (or even streaming races live online like ALMS/WEC/ELMS/FIA GT) and it'll be perfect.

Does any know how long the refuelling races (Rockingham/Silverstone GP/Brands Hatch GP/Donington) are? I´m assuming 2 hours but could there be an 3 hours race as well?

The sprints are 2 x 1 hour (Saturday/Sunday).

It was mentioned in Autosport a week or two back- IIRC they're planning on running a Ferrari, and maybe looking at a Ginetta in GT4 as well?

I wonder if there's a case to be made for splitting GT3 and GT4 into separate races, particularly if the Aston Martin GT4 challenge could be combined with the GT4's?

Impressive growth for British GT this year. 2012 was a fantastic season, this one will be better. IMO the best national GT field in Europe.

does anyone know if any team is interested in participating with a Jaguar? maybe the all-new F-Type. A GT3 customer racing programme really is a strong likelihood.

Is there a Jag GT3 program announced? If so, it seems highly unlikely anybody will enter with it this year.

I'm sure plenty of teams would be interested. But you need to get a car built and test it before you can campaign it.

That said, the late British GT rounds would be an ideal place to blood in the new Bentley. Image this entry plus a few of them - insane!

Both GT races have been on the monday since 2009, the last Saturday race was when it started snowing (yes, really) in 2008 and the Ginetta G50 vaulted the barrier at Cascades and caught fire.
