RS67 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

He did, he gained himself a drive through penalty.
Researched the race earlier and it looks like he was over the line before the warm up lap too.

Well let's change topic:

Will #HARD have their first post media day driver change before Donny?

Who (and when) will someone break ranks and grumble about boost?

Prediction wise, I think I stupidly said # HARD would have more driver changes than Plato would have excuses. So far it's Plato 1 - 0 #HARD

Or how about a BTC and AmD have outperformed Dynamics discussion? Camm was utter crap, Matt was kicked up the arse, Smiley was biffed by a geriatric, Tordoff clearly was a bad man in a past life, Cookie and Rory were class.

I’m hoping for a dry weekend at Donington so we have a better idea of who’s where

I think Sutton's already done that after R2 at Brands?

i would have gotten Mat Jackson in that Dynamics seat but yeah AMD humiliated them a bit

Tordoff could have won race 1 outright, he was near front and on dry tires... he must visit some Gypsy witches and ask to lift the curse no matter the costs

All drivers knew the rules and penalties before they lined up on the grid. Plato parked the car there, no one else. Plato or his team chose to change tyres probably to gain a point for fastest lap. No one else made that decision. Plato or his team made the decision to run the soft tyres in race 2. It's no one else's fault but their own. Just because Plato put it on the front row doesn't mean their race pace was going to be any good.
My point is very clear...Plato's pace on dry tires in race 1 was quite strong, and he was not "swapping places with the same drivers that were on wets" as you suggested. Those guys on wets neither had penalties nor and tire stop. That's why they were further up the order...

I wasn't disagreeing with the penalty.

Really it's 1-1.
Or 1-2 if you count support races.

One thing that I noticed that at the moment that the lights went out at the start, the pit wall was virtually deserted. It would seem that nearly all the team personnel scurry back to their garages to watch proceedings from their TV screens. Maybe if some one had been on the wall, they could have told/motioned for Plato to back up an inch or two.
Can't see much off the pit wall, plus only a couple of people on it. Some of them tend to head out the back of the garage to view the back half of the circuit.

During the start of a race only marshals are allowed on the pit wall. Teams can cross the pitlane and come on to the wall when the last car has gone past the end of the pit exit.

This is done for safety, and having been on the pitwall when a collision happened on a DTM race start at Donington Park it was a good job there were not more people on the wall.

Makes sense. Plato's Subaru made a hell of noise when that impacted the wall and became banana shaped...
