Teams don’t seem to be too equal neither, in putstops amyway. One lets a wheel fall off (presumably a penalty to come?) and another team dumping 3 seconds in a stop compared to the bloke he followed into the pits.
Messy... |

Different day so meaningless really but it definitely looks like 888 are getting the car sorted - also as the commentary crew mentioned, whomever has clean air at the front is able to get some benefit.
Personally I suspect there's not much in it, CoG measurements will happen and then everyone will have exact info rather than conjecture. Similar to last year where there were complaints about bodywork, it was measured and found within the rules but the rules were adjusted. I just see it as a new car thing where maybe some clever paths have been followed and measurements are being taken to confirm what the deal is and if the commission feels that rules need to be changed, they will be, otherwise everyone races on. |

I am not Ford/Holden crazy . I just point out that a few drivers can put a car in the right place to achieve lap times. So no need to change anything. If what we have seen in the since Adelaide , DJRPenske/T88 battle and a few others, it looks to be a good year of racing. BJR had an opportunity , but alas they blew it. |

There may well be a small difference in CoG, but the real difference is in the aero. The cockpit is narrower at the rear allowing more air to the wing on the Mustang, There is bigger distance between the end of the rear window and the wing on the Mustang, and the end plates add huge amounts of stability like an F1 or sprint car. No wonder the Tickford drivers came from nowhere to be front runners now... This is no fluke.
What this also means is the Nissan's could really make a huge gain with a mustang rear wing, more so than the Holden. Heimgartner must be a better driver than the car is showing. |

Red Bull have gone backwards this year relative to other teams, they are now quite often no better than the other holden squads.

Stanaway disqualified from yesterday’s race & $10k fine.
Wonder if the message will get through to him? |

Nope. His team sponsor is an enabler. His team boss isn't too far behind him. Garth must be smirking though.

No penalty for Waters for crashing on the out lap, but a fine and a stern telling off for 888 losing a wheel. Bugger me.

Lots of bad sportsmanship flags / warnings for overusing the curb at a couple of corners, yet nothing for going miles off the track and making a pass at other corners. The series is becoming a total joke.

Giz is a joke, cuts the corner, lets Coulthard alongside to pass and then late brakes causing contact and forcing Coulthard off track.

The yellow track limit line is painted the whole way around the track, so why have it all the way around if they ignore it for 3/4 of the rack? Just paint it where you'll get pinged if you cross it. It's all BS anyway, because everyone knows the track limit is the wall / armco / fence / earth bank / other hard things that will make a mess of your car.

Tim Schenken "If you cross the track limit line on corners x, y, and z, you'll get the naughty boy / girl flag, do it again you'll cop a time penalty. But only on those corners. The rest of the track is a free-for-all so don't worry about the lines, they're just to add a bit of colour to the place. Use as much of the place as you need to to get a pass done. Just don't lose a wheel off the car cos we'll throw the book at you for that, cos we're a bit low on funds for our next officials' soiree." |
