Gutted for Leclerc, but he will have many more chances at a win.

Weird spin by Vettel.

Despite it being in the lap 20s again that Lewis was complaining about tyres, he is the beneficiary again. He doesn't seem to get a lot of bad luck, but I guess you make your own, or maybe he really is #blessed

Great drive by Norris and good racing between he & Kimi.

Renault dropped the ball more than Ferrari this race - a one-stopper was a horrific call, and despite it ending up to be irrelevant, they should have seen the writing on the wall with Dan's pace and changed it up.

In a strong grid with not a lot of weak links like past seasons; Giovinazzi has been one of my less impressive drivers in the first two races, and while we all know that Ericsson isn't a world-beater, but would have Alfa been better off served having Kimi plus a driver that was improving and was fully integrated in the team? It may be the difference between a place in the Constructor's. I'm sure GIO will get up to speed soon.

I'm not convinced it was a bad decision. I thought t was rather smart to split strategies, to maximize your chances of a result.

What a race!

Leclerc now looks the real deal. He didn’t let his bad start worry him and recovered well to take the lead and control the race, only for that cruel luck to rob him. Still he didn’t let it get on top of him too much, as he knows he has the rest of the season to make amends. Waiting for cynics to say Ferrari broke his car to help Vettel!

Speaking of Vettel, well the C4 commentary team were laughing when it happened and that says it all. It’s become too predictable and way too much of a habit. Leclerc has now put the pressure on him and it looks like him getting no. 1 status may be reconsidered after that

Mercedes need to watch out, Ferrari are strong now. Lewis got lucky and Valterri didn’t quite repeat his performance in Melbourne, but still if he keeps up the consistency, who knows?

Max another good race in the RBR. Gasly though needs to do better next time, but it does show what a special talent Max is

Funny how first the Renaults clashed at the first corner, then later parked at the same spot late in the race

Well done Norris and Albon on getting their first points in F1

Smart initial decision yes, but as soon as you see your driver losing 3+ seconds a lap, it doesn't take a genius to work out in 8 laps time, you've lost your one less pit stop advantage. They left him out for 10+ laps.

I don’t think that Hamilton or Mercedes were lucky. Vettel span all on his own, after Hamilton had already passed him. Leclerc’s car breaking is very hard on him but it’s not luck...Ferrari should simply make their cars as reliable as the Mercs.

Hamilton does not make mistakes; all his rivals do. Mercedes make bullet-proof cars; their rivals don’t. This isn’t luck, it’s the sort of sustained sporting brilliance which causes rivals to melt under the mental pressure. I consider it a privilege to witness.

Leclerc does seem to have both the speed and mentality to challenge if Ferrari can give him a good enough (note: good enough, not merely fast enough) car. That said, there’s a very big difference between challenging for wins at the start if a season when expectations are low, and challenging for a title at the end of the season, especially when (1) it’s Merc/Hamilton you are fighting and (2) it’s Ferrari you are driving for.

Nice to see the mid-field so close. Shame the DRS zone was far too long on the main straight. They should make it end 200-300m sooner so cars actually fight into T1 instead of just sailing by.<br />

I'd rather a race ends under the safety car than some unwitting recovery team gets fried, every day of the week.

Although no one really attended to the car before race end.

Think back to 2008 (or was it 2007?). A leading F1 team has an established world champion with a known petulant streak, who assumes that he will have the No1 privileges. In the second car is a young hotshot who is not impressed by reputations and simply wants to go fast. McLaren then. Ferrari now. What could possibly go wrong?

That was obvious at the time.Similar to Alonso leaving McLaren after 2007 and Ferrari after 2014.Moving down the grid is never a good idea in F1.As Christian Horner said in the Netflix series he was running away from a fight.

Big difference though - Hamilton had already won the WCC with McLaren, albeit some years previous to his move to Mercedes. I would fully expect the impetus for Hamilton's move to be Toto Wolff explaining the development year of 2013 and the new engines coming along for 2014, alongside the struggles that were surfacing at McLaren.

Ricciardo stropped and flounced because RBR wouldn't give him #1 status, and brought in a feisty hotshoe to play against him. But then, RBR aren't known for their support for "number 2 drivers", are they?

It was 2007 and it could well happen, the difference perhaps being that Ferrari would move to using team orders to support the lead driver, perhaps a reason for Sebastian to get upset.

That's it: Vettel to Renault.

That was my point. An electrically unsafe car requires too much kit and too many people to have them out on a live track.

All jokery aside, I was pleasantly surprised Leclerc was not ordered to stay behind Vettel after his bad start, and that Ferrari made no effort to swap the cars around during pitstops.

That's not to say it would definitely not have happened at all if Leclerc and Vettel stayed 1 and 2, but I have a feeling it would not.

Nope, Renault have hardly improved in 2 seasons when you would have expected them to be at least regularly challenging for 3rd best team by now.

Merc were clearly in the acendency when Selfie boy joined them.

Selfie Boy has it over Finger Boy, at the mo and Finger Boy needs to wipe that 'tash off his face with that Finger, otherwise Charlie Boy will sneak up behind both of them and give them the finger.
