Alan, Richard says his problem was more connected with breathing difficulties than his heart and he is feeling fine. He said he might have a heart attack if he gets a bill for the air ambulance though.

Richard I'm pleased to hear you are on the mend...instead of commenting on all the cars you used to own you can now speak with authority on the'choppers you have experienced'.
I hope you are well enough for our next Oulton outing... we will all miss you if you're not.

Take it as a compliment David.

I suppose your Sunday Class A report was easier to write at 0 mph, rather than the normal juggling of your notepad and pen at obscene speeds with swarms of FF1600s' in front of you, behind you, at either side of you and occasionally on top or underneath you.
Also, you will be able to be a bit less brief this time, as 'er indoors has left you all 'home alone' this week and won't be shouting "Oi, are you coming to bed, or what?"

Quick diz spell check for your Saturday report. His correct name is Dave Fricker

He'll pinch material off anybody! Saturday lunchtime I made a comment about Dave Murphy's more-tape-than-fibreglass nosecone being a movable aerodynamic device, as it deformed at speed; Saturday afternoon Diz made the same comment in his commentary.....

On the subject of commentaries - get well soon, Sprocket, Diz is after your job - not that he presents much of a threat!

I don't know Richard personally, but I've heard a lot about him.

It's clear he has many friends both in the paddock and among race-goers.

Get well soon.

I'm sure many hope to hear him back commentatiing very soon.

Now, now Brandy "I'm not a commentator, I'm a commentator's mate and I'm only plucking pheasants cos the pheasant plucker's late."
Wonder where I pinched that from?
Anyway, I bet you're glad that I ricked my back later on Saturday afternoon and that meant that I couldn't climb the steps to the commentary position on Sunday. Bit of a pity that, as I had a whole pile of Dave Brand material just ready to use.

Yes, you're absolutely correct, diz : I'm totally on my own this week. So, I'll back to first name terms with the guy that owns the chippy at the end of the road.

First time in 8 years racing that I've actually watched a race I should have been racing in. An interesting experience to say the least. Stood on the pit wall at Anglesey was eye opening to say the least: do we really go that fast and that close together? Far less scary to be driving.

On the subject of Mr Focker, sorry Fricker, he was very lucky he didn't suffer the wrath of young Christopher Bailey (aged 7 by the way) who having seen the incident was all up for going to "stick one on him" his words not mine! He's a bit small for that but he could have given him a nasty head butt to the gonads.

There only Sprocket who would have the helicopter painted to match the colour of his car.
