Stakhanov should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Ginetta G4 Engine options

Apart from the 1 litre, 1300 Ford and Lotus Twincam, does anyone have documentary evidence of any G4 /G4R running with anything else, such as BDA or FVA? Would have to be a period motor.
Cheers

In period I thought the only engine used was the 1 liter FJ wet sump Ford.

I'm fairly certain that none ever ran in period internationally with either BDA or FVA/FVC. Don't remember any running at club level with those engines. Many ran at club level with 1500cc or 1650cc pre-crossflow engines and maybe 1500cc at international level.

Certainly only ever homologated as a 1litre, Catalogue listing rang all the way throught the Ford "kent" capacity range from pre crossflow to crossflow. Non were listed with twin cams, althought during modsports period twin cam some were probably run(Ian & Bill Higgins also Mike Chittenden?) . Best person to ask would be Trevor Pyman. Ginetta owners club Font of knowledge ,his powers of retention re Ginetta's in particular and probably lots of other things is phenomenol. Top Man also.

I think that as far as I can recall engines were optional.

1L FJ is homologated

Twin cam for the G4R ( but this is vague to my knowledge, I've seen some pretty extreme interpretations, and have no idea what, if anything is period correct or acceptable)

HRS can run either 1300 or 1500 precrossflow

later square tube I think can run in 70's roadsports with a 1600 crossflow

The only ones that I remember from when they first appeared were fitted with the 997cc Anglia engine.

I ran mine in CSCC Swinging Sixties with a cross flow (which Joe built). Was successful.

Surely they don't allow square tube G4s in 70s Road Sports?
