Thank you for this information. Looks like 10 cars will be a realistic goal for Div2. Hopefully they can give some opposition to De Keersmaecker!

With Windows use Alt keys:

Alt + 0228 = ä (but replacement for the German Umlaut ä = ae) or Alt + 0230 = æ
Alt + 0246 = ö (for the German Umlaut ö = oe) or Alt + 0248 = ø
Alt + 0252 = ü (for the German Umlaut ü = ue)
Alt + 0223 = ß (for the German ß = ss)
Alt + 0229 = å (replacement = aa)

1975DCS should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
We (me and my dad) booked our hotel in Folkestone and ferry from Dunkerke! So after a very long periode absence we will finally return to Lydden! The last time we went here was 1996 and 1990 (when my favourite Alamaki was not showing up).

I kinda hoping of a massive entrance for this ERC, but fingers are crossed because of the economical crisis currently hitting Europe. But we will have to wait end see who will be showing up...

I do hope Gollop brings out his Focus either driven by himself or Andrew Jordans. Last time this car drove in Europe it failed to impress, but if you see the footage of the car in Lydden it should be flying, just like is old 306 until recently still seems to do...

On Motors TV I saw some Eddy and he was driving the old Koutny car, so who is he and which car from Koutney is this?

Greeting,
Daniël and Ad

It's Eddie Kinirons from kildare, Ireland. The car is the one koutny used in the 2007 ERC Championship. The car has since undergone a major rebuild at the hands of Tony Phillips, Paul Tierney and a few more from the UK.
Hope that helps you.

Well in the second winter series event at Lydden Sterkens looked like he'll be able to give De Keersmaecker a run for his money. I'm really looking forward to the Division 2 races - the cars looked great (nice and sideways ), an improvement I think over the old Division 2.

Gentlemen – On your marks!

Received by email just a couple of hours ago:

"Dear All

This is the news we have been waiting for and all at Lydden have been working towards.

We now have an MSA Permit and FIA Visa Number. We also have a Track Licence.

This is the first group of people that I could find to distribute it to.

Amy can you now get your publicity machine up and running.

I will tomorrow send all the information to the Officials although I believe most are covered by this e mail.

I shall also start compiling the event binders.

If anybody can identify somebody who I have missed of the list please let me know

Thank you to everyone for your help and I apologise for their late circulation.

Tony Watts
Competition Director"

thats a disaster for us from the far north as i fear thats us not coming now as it was going to be costly enough and 80% of the experience is the camping over at the event cant imagine the cues to get in on the mornings if their expected crowds turn up and every single spectator has to come through the gates

oh well maybe next year

Don't let it put you off, RICKY BOBBY. There will be plenty of atmosphere at the campsites nearby with all the fans there and it won't exactly break the bank to camp for one or two nights, will it? £3 a head, maybe? Just drive a bit more slowly on the way down and save it in fuel

I'm definitely still up for it, anyway. Roll on Easter weekend!

The atmosphere at the French ERC events I have been to is made by the campsites at the circuits!!

Oh, and watching practice isn't like how it is over here...

Very noble of the Dorans to put other cars at the front of their poster! Though they could have got Proctor's new car (however, I have always loved the Puma)

I think Hal means that the practices are more structured, longer and a damn sight more worthwhile viewing than the hour warm-up pre British RX events. In fact, last year at Kerlabo, Pallier had a big off right in front of me in timed practice (then won the event!!)

Am gutted that I cannot make this and I may be jumping the gun here, but will it be on TV/highlights etc?

Price of the VIP tickets is a bit more than I was thinking they'd be, but otherwise I can't wait for this.

Thanks for the tip off on the camping; I prefer to stay somewhere with four walls and a bar, but a mate of mine is camping so I've passed that information on to him!

For anyone who hasn't spotted the link from the (ever helpful) Schanche, here be the timetable:

Saturday, April 11. 2009

09h00 Circuit opens
14h00 Secretariat opens
14h00 - 19h00 Administrative checking
14h10 - 19h00 Scrutineering

09h00 - 11h00 Scrutineering (only by waiver of the clerk of the course)

13h45 - 14h45 Second free practice - 3 1/2 laps
